I think it would really be nice if someone purchased this building and turned it into a Mini Mall with small shops, Coffee Shop, cafe and maybe some speciality shops. The building is large enough and would be someplace else to shop.

Here We go again folks round #2...The old wal-mart building...It's a sunk hole ! everytime it rains it gets flooded in the back and the water has no place to drain except right back inside the store again. Now what contractor in town done the plumbing for that place too.? oH Gee I think... that's another story. Oops! Did i SAY THAT !

You open up the Mini Mall and I will rent one of your specialty shop spaces and sell scuba equipment.

City needs to send them a letter because the grass is to tall. "Come grow with us" lol Should say "Come go weeds in our empty lots with us".

Then what is the old Walmart building across from Save-A-Lot now? Is it affiliated with Walmart? Does Walmart still own that building and is just leasing it? Do you know what you're talking about?

I think the city had purchased it at one point (but I've been known to be wrong - I DO have two ex-wives lol)

I left Coffeyville in 1983 and have only been back twice. When I reached town for the first time in seventeen years or so I noticed that there was a big shale pit missing. Whaaaaaaht? How can a shale pit be "missing"? Then I noticed a WalMart. Now, tell me, who in their right mind would fill in a shale pit and build a large shopping structure? It doesn't make any sense. For one thing, shale is a very insecure base upon which to place concrete slabs, not to mention the fact that it had been full of water. For another, there were empty buildings/lots in town that perhaps would have sufficed. And for another, Coffeyville isn't large enough to support a downtown and a large discount retailer. Call me Captain Obvious, but wtf?
