Kansas: The First Abortion-Free State?

By Kate Sheppard
Thu Jun. 23, 2011 3:00 AM PDT

If new guidelines from the Kansas health department are enforced, the last three abortion clinics in the state could be forced to shut their doors this summer.

Back in April, the state legislature passed a law directing the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to author new facility standards for abortion clinics, which the staunchly anti-abortion GOP governor, Sam Brownback, signed into law on May 16. The law also requires the health department to issue new licenses each year, and it grants additional authority to health department inspectors to conduct unannounced inspections, and to fine or shut down clinics.

How bout we let people live their lives. It isn't our place to say if abortion is right or not. If it isn't involving you personally, then it isn't any of your business.

I totally agree. Both pre and post womb abortions should be a matter of personal preference. I sure have several ppl i'd like to abort. Pass the LAW!

The religious nuts in Kansas are running wild. First they murder Dr. Tiller and now "The Family" cult member Brownback passes this smothering legislation to choke the still-standing out.

We need to take back our state from these goons.

I will say that I am more of a post womb abortion fellow. I think it more moral to wait and see how they turn out before we put them down. Its a little more expensive to feed a fetus for 10 or 12 years but at least they get a fair shake. At 10 to 12 y/o if they have not showed signs of progress it is totally ok to whack em then. You could even give em running head starts to make it fun.

Death is evident the moment brain function stops. There for a fetus is a viable little human life. I have seen many parents taking care of disabled children with love an compassion and with as much so as the rest of their children. Heaven is full of aborted babies,,,waiting on their mothers. Partial birth abortions are even more horendous. If a woman can carry a child full term to birth with the feet only in why cut the spinal cord at the neck to murder it? Have you ever seen one? even premiers can live now from 26 weeks gestation.

preemies...And I was speaking of why abort a baby that doctors say "might "not be right. Abortion for reason of fornication is just not right. If you spread em...you made your bed so lay in it...that child deserves to live and many would be happy to have it.just saying

a matter of personal preference? Ok...what is the baby's personal preference....oh wait..if the baby is aborted then their preference doesnt count? once the pregnancy is started, the mothers' body is NO LONGER JUST HER OWN
