What do you guys think of some of the things going on with Obama's power grab?

it Seems he wants control of everything from health care to banking to running the auto industry and setting salaries in different corporations...

To me it's kinda scary.

Thats the Dems for ya . I am sure if they had it their way . None of us would draw a pay check. We would work at our government ran business' go home to our Government owned home. Then when we went to the store we would be allotted so much groceries , as to how big a household you had. They would just scan the chip that has been put into our arm and the computer would show how much we have left and if what we want is something we are allowed to have and so on.
" just shaking my head." what have we gotten ourselves into ?

I don't agree often to alot of things on topix you comment on but you. You are so right.
After looking back these past months I've notice things that didn't add up.

Here is some of oBUMa accomplishments in 7 month:
1. Offended the Queen of England.
2. Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia .
3. Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega.
4. Kissed Socialist Hugo Chavez on the cheek.
5. Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia .
6. Sided with Hugo Chavez and Communist Fidel Castro against Honduras .
7. Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions while they're building their nuclear weapons.
9. Expanded the bailouts.
10. Insulted everyone who has ever loved a Special Olympian.
11. Doubled our national debt.
12. Announced the termination of our new missile defense system the day after North Korea launched an ICBM.
13. Released information on U.S. intelligence gathering despite urgings of his own CIA director and the prior four CIA directors.
14. Accepted without comment that five of his cabinet members cheated on their taxes and two other nominees withdrew after they couldn't take the heat.
15. Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who identified military veterans and abortion opponents as "dangers to the nation."
16. Ordered that the word "terrorism" no longer be used and instead refers to such acts as "man-made disasters."
17. Circled the globe to publicly apologize for America 's world leadership.
18. Told the Mexican president that the violence in their country was because of us.
19. Politicized the census by moving it into the White House from the Department of Commerce.
20. Appointed as Attorney General the man who orchestrated the forced removal and expulsion to Cuba of a 9-year-old whose mother died trying to bring him to freedom in the United States .
21. Salutes as heroes three Navy SEALS who took down three terrorists who threatened one American life and the next day announces members of the Bush administration may stand trial for "torturing" three 9/11 terrorists by pouring water up their noses.
22. Low altitude photo shoot of Air Force One over New York City that frightened thousands of New Yorkers.
23. Sent his National Defense Advisor to Europe to assure them that the US will no longer treat Israel in a special manner and they might be on their own with the Muslims.
24. Praised Jimmy Carter's trip to Gaza where he sided with terrorist Hamas against Israel .
25. Nationalized General Motors and Chrysler while turning shareholder control over to the unions and freezing out retired investors who owned their bonds. Committed unlimited taxpayer billions in the process.
26. Passed a huge energy tax in the House that will make American industry even less competitive while costing homeowners thousands per year.
27. Announced nationalized health care "reform" that will strip seniors of their Medicare, cut pay of physicians, increase taxes yet another $1 trillion, and put everyone on rationed care with government bureaucrats deciding who gets care and who doesn't.

Bloomberg: Daschle says, "Health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them," while former Colorado Governor Dick Lamm says seniors have "a duty to die."

If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that the President, Senators and Congressmen have their own special gold plated health care plan which is guaranteed the remainder of their lives and they are not subject to this new law if they pass it. You are so right.

Ok, so I guess I'm not alone in my dispise of the president.

My question to anyone is,

WHAT THE HELL DO WE DO NOW?

I really don't care republican or democrat, just how can we stop the rediculous spending/government control/hypocrocy.

Does anyone see a candidate or a way to change it?

I'll continue to do what I always have.. Look at a candidates past, see how they have voted on issues that concern me.. What they have said and espoused in the past. Not just what they are saying on the campaign trail... A smooth talker cannot cover up their past and I will not confuse Saturday Night Live with real news.

I will continue to vote moderate conservative.

Finally, nobody can blame me for this..

I voted for Palin

Wow, you and I do agree politically.

My only issue, is the majority of the country don't seem to have that mantality.

Obama was exactly that, a smooth talker who successfully covered up a lifetime of attacking america. For God sakes he was in an anti-american anti-white church for over 15 years and reffered to his hate preaching minister as his religiuos mentor.

But yet in the campaign for president most were too afriad to make it an issue, because the were afraid of the race issue.

I do want to set one thing completely strait. I don't care what color a person skin is, what I care about is what is in thier mind and heart.

What scares me is that a vast majority get enamered by a persons charisma and not their issues and thier true politics.

You voted for Palin; have you not been following her lately and what she has to say about getting along with her fellow running mate. Your issues go deeper; yea I guess we could have ended up with McClain and what his great record on anything. Get over it and issues that people continue to pass on to their children about the way to treat people.....

I'm tired of hearing how George Bush and Dick Cheney kept us safe. They ignored President Clinton's terrorist czar, Richard Clarke, about the threats of al-Qaida. The second attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 happened on their watch.

***

I'm already seeing signs of President Obama starting to distance himself from a lot of the Democrats who are working on the health care bill. If it doesn't fly, he'll be pointing fingers at them.

***

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said "there is no business in America that makes more money than the insurance industry." Lies, again. The insurance industry is 35th down the list. Democrats are up to their corrupt business, as usual.

***

In our town we are not allowed to give our children H1N1 shots, but thank God the president's kids got their shots. They don't have to worry. Wow.

***

Three little words have helped raise the cost of health care: "Ask your doctor."

***

I am an independent who wants to thank the Republicans for holding up extending unemployment benefits. Every day more people lose these benefits, and this is why people are losing their homes. Do you really think this will make us vote for you?

***

I read about the couple captured by pirates. The thing I found the most interesting was that the pirates have a spokesman.

***

Anybody who thinks Fox News is a legitimate news source probably thinks "Jerry Springer" is a legitimate talk show.

***

In 2008, California made more than $220 million in tax revenue from medical marijuana. Why isn't the rest of the country doing the same?

***

Rep. Todd Tiahrt represents Kansas, not upstate New York. He should keep his focus on Kansas.

***

Tea party participants are such hypocrites. How many of those on Social Security will return the extra $250 they may get? How many got a $4,500 clunker trade-in bonus when they bought their new car? Indeed, how many are on Medicare?

If a system is broken, it doesn't matter who is at the helm. There are just way to many special interest groups that are willing to do whatever it take to push their agenda reguardless of what the rest of the American public needs, feels, or wants. We need people in office that will do what they were elected to do and represent the voters that put them in office!

Why is Bush the current president?

I must have missed something I thought Obama was the man in-charge.

What I love about your post is it is so typical of a kindergardener's attitude.
"well he did a crappy job so I thought I could do a crappy job"

So, your ideals would be that we shouldn't learn from our mistakes, we should just go ahead and continue making more mistakes and even bigger mistakes that cost our country more than we could possibly ever fix. Maybe we should try to fix these mistakes with even more mistakes, after all it's just money, tax payer money.

Ok, some of this truly shows your intellegence and desperation for an arguement. Let me point out a few.
#1. Thank god we found no WMD's. I personally feel safer with no sadam and the fact that we know there are no WMD's
#4. Umm Clinton had Osama pinpointed in afghanastan and made the choice not to get him then, so obviously this wasn't considered that big of a threat prior to 911. Hindsight is 20/20
#5. What did the memo say? Nobody could have stopped 9/11.
#6. The mission was accomplished, however a new mission then arrised.
#7. The UN is a worthless entity that has many more politics at play than what's in the US best interest. I applaud Bush for standing up to this One world government mantality the UN wants to push.
#8 and #9 Osama had many ties to Iraq and Hussain, that was proven. Al Qaeda had training facilities iraq and were highly funded by by Hussain. Again, maybe Clinton should have taken care of the problem in the first place.
#10 The kyoto protocal was moronic and the US really should not be involved in it anyway. Again good call for Bush.
#11. You are absolutely right, the president should have been down their personally doing whatever he could have to make the clean up go smoother. What the hell was he suppose to do? I really can't even believe you think a natural desaster should impact the presidents plans as far as his physical location. Get real.
#12. Your absolutely right, we should have bailed out more business' with that money. He did not underestimate, he realized that wars take time and money. Hell WW1 and WW2 vietnam korea all had costs higher than expected, historically, he made the exact same type of decissions as other war time presidents.
#13. You do realize that was a story made up by CBS and that was admitted to right? The troops had the supplies they needed, that was a rumor followed by a smear campaign.
#15. The tax cuts you are referring to are not going to some fat rich guy hording is money, the tax cuts go to business owners which opens up funds for employment to help stimulate growth and the economy. Yeah, let's tax all the people more that are responsible for paying 80% of our workforce so they have less funds to employ people. hmmmm....
#20. Are you really nieve enough to think that didn't go on all ready? The only thing he did, was made it usable as evidence in court, and brought it to the general publics attention.
Ok, now, I would like to get back to the original post after I ensure you if Bush were running again I would not vote for him either because of his desire to enlarge government and use regulations to govern the people. This mindset by our elected officials should be considered a slap in the face because they are basically telling us they think we are to stupid, as a population, to take care of ourselves.
I would however take the mistakes you listed over those like the ones topwhop listed because:
a war you can end.
Natural desasters are going to happen.
You can change or enlist new contracts to right a wrong.
What is much harder to fix is the undoing of all the spending and regulations and government expansion our current president is doing. Our constitution and bill of rights was not intended to be mis-used and attacked the way it currently is from the inside out.

Well thank you, it's nice to see someone can find the posative in a statement and comment on that...
Here's some more nice stuff for you:
Obama and both houses want everyone under a certain income level to have FREE healthcare, and make everyone over that level pay for it.
Does that sound American to you?
Obama wants to pick and choose what industries should fail, and what should be allowed to get assisted by the gov.
Deos that sound American to you?
Obama wants to set salaries for executives in business.
Does that sound america to you?
What Obama wants is to punish success and aid the in failures. Is this what you want in our country?
Do you want an America where it is almost impossible to succeed and if you do find a way you are punished.
Do you want an America where you are so dependent on the government they dictate what you can afford to eat, drink, watch, and do for a living?
Do you want a society where everyone makes about the same amount on the bottum line after you figure in taxes, min. wage increases, and government handouts?
I would hope not, the soviet union tried that, it's called communism and it didn't and doesn't work.
I want an America where I am free to achieve as much success as my skills and abilities allow me. Not where I'm regulated and taxed into submission by a power hungry officials who think they know what's best for me.
Thanks, but no thanks.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aries

The level of sexual chemistry flowing between you and you-know-who is so powerful right now that you could almost reach out and touch it. This could lead to some X-rated scenes but there's also a chance that it could go another way and provoke a combustible atmosphere. So do your best to steer the situation in whichever direction you want it to take.
