I am trying to find out if anyone remembers anything about this place. It was a childcare place run by two very old women out of their home. I think it was on Tropical Trail & there was a large sign shaped like a boot in front of it (like the old lady who lived in a shoe).
They actually operated 24 hours a day. My mother had substance abuse issues & left me there regularly, day or night. One of the women's grandsons lived in the house too & he molested many of the children.
This has been over 30 years ago so I'm not trying to prosecute or sue anyone, I'm sure the women that ran it are LONG since dead. I guess what I'm trying to do is validate my memory.
A couple of years after their divorce, my father was able to take custody from my mother, & I went on to have an ideal home & have a wonderful life today.
My mother to this day denies that my memories are correct about this place, insisting I was only there once & that they weren't even open at night. My father backs my recollection completely, & he seems to remember that they were eventually busted & shut down not long after he got custody. At the time he did not know how much time I had spent there or that I was ever exposed to anything.
I've always wondered if they were indeed investigated & if any charges were pressed. Over the years, I've donethat multiple searches for information, but came up empty.
Like I said, after 30 years, I'm not looking for legal action, and I certainly don't feel the need to prove anything to my mother. It's just always bothered me that I don't know if there was ever any action taken against the man.
Any information would be appreciated!

I went there, as did my siblings as children in the 80s. We loved it for the most part. I do remember a weird son but he didn't interact with me. I do not remember there ever being a time it was open overnight, it opened at 6 when we got there (we were generally first there). I went til I was 11. It's been a long long time, but those are my memories.
