You know what we need? We need thoughtough old timers whom ended all of that crime associated with bootlegging decades back. All through the 1920's we had a serious crime problem associated with alcohol. Turf wars, people robbing to pay the high prices bootleggers demanded, underground economy in the millions of dollars, etc. We had some really smart and TOUGH crime fighters back then whom did away with all of that crime. We need them now to do whatever it was they did back then to end the crime associated with bootlegging. The drug wars today are exactly the same as the alcohol wars back then. We need the old timers!
The way we got rid of all of that crime related to bootlegging was by ending alcohol prohibition. End marijuana prohibition and end stupid waste of government funds being used to prosecute some otherwise lawabiding citizen. Marijuana is illegeal because it has a huge potential to put all petroleum products out of the market. FACT the first ModelT was built to run off of hemp oil. The US was the largest producer of hemp for 150 years. We grew it everywhere and made everything out of. Dupont was in with Hoover who hired the first drug Czar, this gentelman was Duponts largest investor. Dupont works with petroleum based plastic. This prohibition is not about public safety it is about lining some fat rich white dudes pocket. Do your research and you will very plainly see all of the propaganda is just that propaganda.

A bigger point to mention here in all this ranting about how pot is not so bad or that it's worse than others think is that SOME people can live high functioning lives while using it, and others can't. I personally don't care for it anymore. When I was young, I smoked quite a bit. It helped me escape from stress, made me feel more normal. I was high functioning then as well. After being away from it for years, I found that I was no longer depressed without it, I didn't tank into lows because I wasn't getting high. I did recently try it again and felt like a complete idiot the whole time. I was a paranoid mess. I don't like the feeling I had at this point in my life from it. That said, to each his own!
I am not against it being legal, but while it is illegal, I think that it should be given credit as being so. I know the police are doing their job by enforcing it. In Merritt Island, there is crime, but not nearly all the murdering, stealing and raping in the streets as some proclaim. Sure it happens, but come on! It's MI, not New York! They have to have something to do to earn their paychecks.
But, on the same case in point about not generalizing potheads, I am pretty sure there are some police officers who are corrupt in their jobs as well. Some cops no doubtedly confiscate the drugs for personal use or target certain individuals out of personal issue. It's a fact of life that not everyone in any group of people will fit the same mold.
Let's get real and acknowledge that labels are useless when used to generalize people. You want to stay out of jail, don't break the law. You want to smoke pot, work to legalize it or hide it well - and for God's sake, stay home when you're high!! We don't need other laws broken with DWI and all that - I don't want to have to explain your actions to my kids either when you're out and about being goofy!! They'll probably be exposed to it themselves all too soon!
