he was busted for male "relationships" in a local park (Berliner Park) in Columbus, Ohio. It was all over our local news up here, and now your school district (good teacher or not) hired him. He was a good band director, but geez, does that really matter?

If I were a parent I would be screaming bloody murder that he is working with my child.

Werner may of done something - It doesn't matter. When I was a student of his he didn't make a pass at me, confront me in any way shape or form. He did provide me with a musical education that carries to this day forward. What he does on his own time is his business and has nothing to do. If you don't want him teaching your child then don't let it it happen. However for anyone to slang someone on here about what he does or did is just wrong - DW your ok in my book.

Mr. Werner is my current band teacher and i don't care what he did in the past because he has taught me so much and he is a great band teacher.

Mr. Werner is a great teacher. He taught me a lot about music, he is nice and knowledgeable. I don't care what he did. He is one of my favorite teachers and a great band teacher.

Mr. Werner was a FANTASTIC band teacher. I couldn't give half a crap whether he's gay, straight, or whatever. His life outside of the classroom is none of my business -- and he certainly never hit on students or anything like that.

I would have no reservations whatsoever having him teach my kids (when I've got some of my own).

okay tonight me and a couple of friends went to publix at like 10:00 at night to get cinnamon rolls and we saw him with another older guy with him in his truck. we thought it was kinda weird and all, but we dont have anything against him but.. y'know haha

Man you can tell that you are ignorant! No one care, I'm from South Florida (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale) and here we can care less of his orientation. You small town conservative folks need to get over yourselves. The questions are "Is he a good teacher? YES" "Do the kids love him? YES" "Is the band thriving? YES" "Has he done anything wrong? NO" "Does he follow The County Ehtics Policy on teaching? YES" Leave the man alone, open your minds, and get over your extreme conservative small town self. His personal life is his business not yours, it has nothing to do with his ability to teach. He is a great director and I would be pround to have my kids study under him.
