hmmm...in 1980 the price per gallon 1.25 (but no gas available under Carter). 27 years later, with the cost of inflation a gallon should be $3.06. Meanwhile, the HUD reports the 2007 Median Income $63,800-up from $17,700. Do the math. If government should control gas profits, shouldn't they control everyone's income. While they are at it, ban smoking too. I don't hear anyone complaining that a stamp has nearly tripled since 1980-and that is already government controlled. Dairy farmers are obviously getting ripped off, why aren't we yelling to give them more? More government control? Be careful what you wish for.
