Settlement in Guidant case swells to $240M

Suz, it is the judge. Until all the cases and liens are settle there will be no more money until the fall. I also received 60% and my lawyer said that even though my claim is all settle the judge will not release the funds until all cases liens are satisfied.

In March i recieved a small check for 3800. Now I recieve papers stating that the second payment should be sent out by July 1st. Anyone know about this. Second payment? I thought the first was the one and only. Is this familar to anyone???

Speaking of my husband's settlement, he received 60% in February with a letter stating the other 40% would follow soon.

I'm assuming the $3,800 you received was only 60% of your settlement with the other 40% being sent July 1st.

Who is your atty.? Last we heard from ours was that the other funds wouldn't be sent out for some time. Maybe there is a light at the end of this long tunnel.

I for one will be glad when this is all over.

My father had the device and passed away 3 years ago. The device failed and caused him to into cardiac arrest. He never came to himself again, but laid there in the hospital for 3 weeks before passing away. This suit has taken long enough. I received a letter in June 09 that stated that everything should be settled by July 1 09. Guess what it is July 1 09 and still nothing. What an insult to my family and my late father

Still waiting on the other 40% here in Houston-my lawyers said any day now but i doubt it!!!!!!!!

Just an FYI...my husband received another check yesterday in the mail. It wasn't the full 40% expected but another 15% of his settlement amount.
