"Penny Granich, who did not want to talk to news reporters, works as an administrative assistant in the Los Alamos area and has a 16-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter, Day said. Her daughter's father was Thomas Granich, he said." And probably would still be her daughter's father too, if.......

the santa fe new mexican is NOT trying to alter/bias stories, but happen to have ties to the TOPIX system which are allowing ALL OF YOU to post to these stories.
case in point... right now there are two stories which essentially are saying the same thing, yet have the second is drawing a new post collection. when the sfnm updates a story, sometimes (and this is why you will need to contact the sfnm) the story's comments don't transfer across.
but rest assured, that they are NOT trying pull a fast one on you. just write a letter to the WEB editors of the sfnm and tell them that they do need to fix this. i used to b tch about it too, until i realized what was happening.

This one is simple -- the defense lawyers were better than the prosecutors. The answer? Hire prosecutors who are as smart as the defense lawyers. Then they'll start winning cases.

The jury did its job. People need to move on. If the deceased's family thinks the jury got it wrong, they can sue in civil court, as with the OJ trials.

It's so unfortunate that the police were too inept to perform a decent investigation. Tom was a good friend and an amazingly good person. I was at the funeral, the only person Penny was sorry for was Penny- she had no grief for Tom or his poor family. She effed up and got away with it- but only by the law. She holds this on her until the day she dies, I only hope she finally realizes what she really did.

the real reason she got off is... the police saw an accident scene, not a crime scene. she is guilty as original sin. hopefully she will tuck her tail and leave town before she is run out of town.

Los Alamos is good at "running" people out of town. Just like they have the homeless and others without the proper amount of $$$ to be there in their opinion. Just who the hell would want to live in a Company Town run by LANL who basically dicates who and what can happen there. POS place to live.

Just because a jury chooses not to convict does not mean that a person is not guilty. Inspite of receiving almost a million dollars from accidental death insurance money, Penny's attorneys made sure that the tax payers picked up the tab for her defense. If John Day is so concerned about the tax payers, his firm can return their fee to the people. Furthermore if John Day wants to know why the attorney general prosecuted this case, he might want to review the transcripts from the trial(particularly the transcripts related to physical and forensic evidence).

Hey Insider, glad to see I am not alone. I am another person who is thought to be a friend but I know she is as guilty as everyone else does. I have known her for a very long time and she is completely capable of killing someone in her drunken rages. I have seen her attack others.

Way to help out the Granich family insiders! If waht you say is true, I am sure they would have much rather you give your information to the DA instead of doing your little posts on line. Way to be a team player

Go ahead soulmate, take her and leave, don't come back. We'll mourn and miss Tom, and we can forget you and 'killer'. BTW, she has admitted her guilt, her attorneys wrangled to have it inadmissible.

There were plenty of us who talked to the DA. What was not used was their choice not ours. The trial could have gone on for months if you got everyone on the stand who had a story to tell about her. Most of her ex-boyfriends have stories of her stalking them, claiming they were trying to kill her, or watching her come unglued at someone like she did at her own daughter's birthday party because someone almost hit her vehicle. She probably told you more information than anyone in your pillow talk. So you should be the one stary by telling them I am sorry I pretended to be your son's friend. Good luck and marry her.. just learn to sleep with one eye open and I recommend not having any sharp objects in your home.

We were friends in high school, no pretending. When I graduated I left town and lost contact with everyone. You know that better than anyone.
