The girdles are back

Full story: Lake County Record-Bee

I see in the papers, that our modern day "Mad Men" are gearing up a new marketing campaign to bring back a garment from the past that brought the greatest of discomfort to the ladies of the '40s and '50s. They have given it a new name, but it is what it is, no matter what they call it now.

They don't have to wear them. They could exercize, eat sensibly and not need one, or just say to hell with them. Is this the best opinion letter you could come up with today? You're watching too much TV.

Sorry Sluggo, but I only made the cassette versions which were an excellent classroom product and in my time half the schools had my products on their AV shelves. I racked up 325 screen credits in education and 100 feature and column credits in 12 national magazines ranging from SEVENTEEN, a crack shop, to The Smithsonian, where some of the best editors in the business are found, there contributing to a major piece on navigation in antiquity having discovered how world maps were drawn in 6,000 BC explaining Phoenician coins found in Minnesota and Captain Cook's secret method for determining positions of Pacific islands that have only recently been improved. I also did movie and underwater work, but I don't want to lay it on....
So according to your own words Half of the schools had your work on their own AV shelves? I do hope your egomaniacal self is referring to Audio-Video and not your namesake........

Gentlemen:

I have only been defending myself from vicious attacks when I have posted truthful contentions and information based on my training, experience and life-long learning. If this offends you need I say the problem is much more yours than mine?

Madame: I have no such appliance, but on reflection expect that Mr. Jim Hall has one and perhaps he can break down, buy a camera and post something that will satisfy your perversion.

The only reason why you are ever attacked is because you bring it upon yourself. Every response you make is one based upon self deluded opinion derived from a narrow range of learning that you have acquired through your "experiences". You try and force your ideas upon everyone else and attack those who have a different opinion than your own, as if you are always right(which you almost never are). Any true intellectual would recognize you as an abomination, spawn of the very thought process that brings about ignorance, hateful lies and violence. The only problem in this world are people such as yourself.

Can you not read? I have no time to waste in order to list my accomplishments. Having been a doctor for 15 years now, I have done everything from clinical work, ER, as well as overlooking surgical procedures. MY TEAMS and I, the past 15 years, are always working, not for ourselves, but for others. That is what working in the medical community is all about. This is why i choose to go after Mr. Vance and it is also why I refuse to take any more part in this conversation. Life isn't about what you do to glorify yourself, it's about what you do to better the lives of others every chance that you get.

Whoa AV has his Curriculum Vitae splattered all over the Internet, much self serving praise of all his acomplishments since he was 17 or 19 years old, his book on audiovisual production can be had for a buck several places, shame it costs $5 for shipping or it would be a good read.

I am sure he brought comfort the the young readers of 17 magazine with his many articles, can't imagine what the subject matter was though... "why the rabbit had to die" comes to mind from the time frame.

Seems funny however that there are not a single link to any of the many articles that were published, surely as the author he has the rights to publish them or a link to them? Oh Gee that was before Al Gore invented the internet and now they are all lost or on cracked microfilm.

It's nice to have such an adoring public.

Yes, most of my published work was done before the Internet was invented, but some can be found in the larger, better public libraries or the Library of Congress and they have a website with a search routine. There, I believe, you can confirm everything I have said.

The work I did for SEVENTEEN was all photographic and the work I did for The Smithsonian was all editorial (like WORDS for many of you dolts). My CV is all true; I'd be a damn fool to have anything in it that was not and I am not a fool. I leave that to some of you; you do it so very well.

I do not need to be validated by you or anyone else, my lifes work speaks for its self. Unlike some people I can be secure in what I have done has made a difference without resorting to making a big deal about it.

"Interesting", don't see you braging about anything either, so what have you done that is so f----ing important? I am realy very comfortable with my life and what I have acomplished and what I may do still. So no need to brag and puff myself up like a lizzard to be larger than life.

You know what, I had a cousin who used to boast and brag all the time about his acomplishments, one day he went into the garage and started up his SUV, one walked in, none walked out. Guess he finaly saw the light not one person on the planet beleived him.

So sad some people feel that they have to validate their lives through boasting and bull then one day they see just how petty they are.
