If you put them in jail how do they pay anything in jail. They can't pay the support at that point we the tax payers pay them. Then they get out of jail and they are still in arrears cause they have to not only catch up with not paying their child support but now they also have to pay the system. They are being set up to fail anyway so what do they have to lose except their freedom. Now everyone loses. Mixed up system.

It's called a work release program, they go to work from jail, the money they make pays for their keep and the rest goes toward back child support.
