I don't believe that consumers will see any major lowing of electrical bills because the savings will be redirected as profits...and, of course, big bonuses.

The price of these solar units is coming down, and they're getting easier for a homeowner to install.
With utility prices going up so fast (it never is going to stop), cities and towns must compromise on ordinances to permit various kinds of energy generating devices to be installed on the premises of a home.
These are difficult times in a not so well-off town/county. We simply cannot be absurdly preoccupied the aesthetics of neighborhoods (as opposed to the downtown area).
If my neighbor can afford to erect a wind machine, all the more power to him. In time, I may join him.
