Cannabis prohibition is welfare for the cops, courts, and drug rehab centers. All mentioned in this article. Greed overpowers common sense, obviously.

With all the people on these threads attempting to sell marijuana WITH lots of other hard drugs, can't you see this as a 'microcoosm' for the fact that marijuana PROHIBITION itself is the REAL "gateway drug"?

Same goes for 'New Age-y' stoners (e.g. vegans)whom a lot of "straights" mistakenly believe were transformed by the intrinsic effects of the weed, when in reality such "Cali / Jainist" lifestyle transitions are likewise caused by ASSOCIATION WITH LIKE FOLK!

If you DON'T want pot aficinados to (1) flirt with harder drugs OR (2) become a bunch of Ahimsa-obsessed (the cultural left-wing's version of 'puritanism', by the way!) freak-a-zoids from Andromeda, then LEGALIZE the stuff for adults so that they can go buy it without these associations ... it really is that simple!

Yeah of course the police need drugs to be illegal what else would they do? Oh thats right they are supposed to be going after rapist thieves and murders. But no they would rather go after a bunch of pot heads. What a intrusion on freedom. What hypocricy!

Cannabis has been used for thousands of years as medicine and was even one of the ingredients Moses used to make anointing oil which was originally known as Kannah Bosm which translates to "cane of flower or blossom" I believe that there's truth's to all religions if you can read between the lines, but according to the Judeo Christian belief, prohibition of the plant is a violation of Gods law. I find it an abomination in a predominantly Christian Government to prohibit God's creation.

THEN GOD SAID,
I GIVE YOU EVERY SEED-BEARING
PLANT ON THE FACE OF THE WHOLE
EARTH, AND EVERY TREE THAT
HAS FRUIT IN IT."
GENESIS 1:29-30

All life on this earth is a biological system and requires biological elements. We are not chemical factories, and therefore shouldn't take any pharmaceutical drugs when there is a better natural substance that actually works!

Law Enforcement, Government Agencies, Politicians, Pharmaceutical Coorporations, and many other big business would loose revenue if it were made available.

When the people fear their government, there is Tyranny, When the Government fears the people, there is Liberty.

No drug dealer would last two days on the street by actually trying to sell these drugs on topix. It's law enforcement agencies attempting to entrap stupid people.

Everyone making the ignorant statements in the article has an economic interest in keeping pot illegal. I can't believe some people are still pushing the 'reefer madness' propaganda of the 30's! Ever notice the anti cannabis people can never cite CREDIBLE evidence to back up their ridiculous statements?
