who's your favorite lawyer in pikeville city? or should I say pikeville Lawyer city?

I have only dealt with a few and always seemed to be treated well. I always used Vanover. But I have only been into a couple of incidents that I needed one. Both were car accidents, one I was rear ended and the other I really was not a client, just there for depositions for another client, my Grandmother as I was following her to work and someone hit her. They always treated me good and seemed fair. I have never been involved in anything that was not easy, cut and dry type situations, so I do not know if they would sell someone out. But they was good to me and as I see it is all I can say. I do know that during the depositions on both cases the opposing lawyers were Baird and Baird, and I do not know of their honesty, but they were really hard to deal with. They will work very hard to get you to make a slip up and they really pissed me off on both occasions. They are probably good lawyers, but after these ordeals I could not use them, because I just wanted to choke the one(tall gray headed fellow) that I had to be questioned by during depositions. Think about it: I was setting at the Island Creek Redlight behind another car when a person rear ended me after skidding roughly 10 foot. I hit the car in front of me and several behind her then hit her and others. The people in front of me clearly stated that we were both stopped. Pretty cut and dry and I was getting grilled!!! The car in front of me, you could tell wasnt my fault due to it did not have near the damage and also the skidmarks and other witnesses. He asked me to describe how a red light operated in my own words???WTF!!

It's sad to say, but there probably would be more responses if this was titled " Who's your least favorite lawyer in Pikeville?

I know that I really do not dislike none that I have met. The Baird guy was only doing his job, at that time I was young and he could see that he could under my skin. If I was him I know I would have done the same, just to see if I would change my story. I told him a lie is hard to remember, but the truth is not.

All lawyers can be bought in Pike County. I have dealt with many and they all sold me out. The lawyers are corrupt and so are the Judges. The Bairds are the biggest crooks in Pike County along with Hugh B. Hall Jr., as they pulled a major fraud with the help of Judges Mullins, Coleman, Combs and the former Supreme Court Cheif Judge Joseph Lambert.
If your family ever comes into to any money, don't ever allow the above to get their greedy hands on it, because they will make it disappear. David Deskins is also a crook, and needs to be removed from office along with Judges, Mullins, Coleman and Combs, and Hugh B. Hall Jr., should also be removed from as Special Cmmissioner, he is a disgrace.
One day the above will be exposed for the liars and theives they really are. Then everyone will see who they really are and how they are rippin off the citizens of Pike County.

I think there are very few honest lawyers,they go to school then collage to get a degree on how to turn the truth into whatever or however they want to use it,I agree, some forget a lie when told and can't remember a lie. one can remember the truth and you will always remember how and what you say, when telling the truth, I always have told my children always tell the truth, a Big or little lie will always jump up and bit you in the ASS!! There are two lawyers in particular that I consider not only dis-honest crooks, but the scum of the earth. They don't care about people at all. It's all about the money, nothing else matters to them. Can't stand them.

it is all a matter of fact and act.its not really about justice.its about winning.now if a laywer has a lot of trial experence and your lawyer dosen't,he better have some acting experience.because the better actor usualy wins the case.especialy if one has political ambitions.
But i know a few that i would trust.but none of the others.the baird's are company lawyers,that is where the money is.they don't care about you or me,they care about winning.law is a funny thing.very technical,and lawyers can split the hair on a frogs back three times three ways.to me they are as trust worthy as the state police,with their,i see what i can do for you,yah right.but some lawyers are a diffrent kind of scum,take your money then don't show up for your hearing,and leave you standing,and the bad thing is you can't get your money back.I don't trust most,but a few i do.I have one favorite.the best advice i ever got from a lawyer was this.he said(you know the first right you are read,the right to remain silent,follow that.but if you are charged with something serious,better be careful who you choose.

Yea, I have had a problem with Deskins too with my case file being tampered with. And former Chief Justice Joseph Lambert just covered it up even after I noticed him.

It's that bad folks. Count yourself lucky if you haven't had to tangle with the courts.

Well I know some of the things Jamie did before his was an attorney when he was in law school. Like how he fibbed on his out of state/in state tuition voucher in Michigan. He got a Michigan drivers license and everything claiming he was "in state" in Michigan. Of course that nearly bit him in the butt when the next year he transferred back to his home "out of state" Kentucky.

Anybody willing to save a few bucks to lie while in law school; they are going to sell people out after they start practicing law. I have other examples too.

save a few bucks, hell I'm all for that, can't really blame him for saving, look at the hard times out there today, if you could save money would you? I know times are tough and I'm going to try to save every penny I can... but I'm not a lawyer either..

I haven't seen any one that is going, or has went that would not have done the same thing to save money. Students no matter where they attend, be it a college, vo tech or whatever, due to lack of money will do anything to save a dollar. You will have to give a better example than that to show his dishonesty. That still does not prove that he will sell you out. Even though I do not think highly of most lawyers, I have not had to deal with them much. I am sure that if you dig hard enough that you will find that all have done some injustices along their careers. If I was a lawyer, my biggest problem would be tryin to defend someone that I knew was guilty of a crime, or someone that I knew for sure was not telling the truth. You see that most of them have to know when they are defending a guilty party. To me you play you pay. My conscience would kill me.

Well not all students lie about their residence to get a cheaper tuition rate.

Also, he was in law school at the time. I know it is a myth, but attorneys are suppose to be honorable. Had the Kentucky Bar Association known about Jamie Hamilton rigging the system; it would have kept him from taking the bar.

I also know some things as far as his activities while in law school as relayed to me by my ex husband. Out of respect for his soon to be ex wife, and his kids; I am going to refrain on here.

Just, the Jamie Hamilton I knew when my ex husband attended law school with- and the one he is currently a law partner with; that Jamie Hamilton would sell anybody out.

Bleu, I'm sorry to say but I think you dislike your ex so much that you bring things into everything that is said, you know I am one of those people who don't belive everything I hear, sometimes take it with a grain of salt, just because someone tells you something that don't mean it's true, maybe it was just stretched way out of proportion, people do that sometimes, I believe what I see with my own eyes and take what I hear with A gran of salt. people like to gossip alot and have no idea of what they are talking about..
