Judge cancels Mingo deputy trial; sheriff prevails

Five days before a trial would have started between Mingo County Sheriff Lonnie Hannah and former deputy Roy Glenn Messer, U.S. District Judge Copenhaver cancelled the trial and declared Hannah the winner.

You might want to get all the information before you go posting. I know for a fact that this judge did not declare hannah as the winner, It was ruled to be remanded back to the Circuit Court of Mingo County.

Some victory huh? This little feud has gone on for years, and the County Court has spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money to keep from giving the man's job back. If the Sheriff wants to pull his little tantrum he should pay out of his own pocket.

I agree, I think that the Sheriff should have to pay out of his own pocket and maybe he would stop all of this nonsence. He has all ready lost all of his friends, except one and that would be Truman. LMAO

The way I hear it this next election is only a hand-off for a term so Lonnie can step right back in and take over again. He's made sure his brother has got first crack at all the best real estate and all the good jobs and contracts to friends and family.

Its not only his Brother that has the best real estate, He has been known to buy alot of it himself.

You people make me sick. You probably are Hootie, Dave and John Mark fans, they have been stealing from the county and no one does anything about it. Let's reelect them, even give one the Senate seat. Where do you think the money they use comes from. Me and you, that is if your not on a welfare check. They make lots of money when it floods.

AMEN!!! You can see or hear one of his sucks a mile away. As for money I have never received a state check. Seems nobody can stand to hear the truth. If he doesn't like what you say or stand for him and his dept. will harrass you and your family so be careful. Wonder why his right arm Joey didn't show up in court against that guy who tore the old mans ear off.

See thats the way things work in this (good-ole boy) place, you get in trouble if you have the right connection HE makes sure no one shows up in court the case is thrown out. EVERYBODY knows that. The cops around here are so dirty they can't go out, out of uniform.

how is it that a deputy on a deputies pay can buy so much property? joey ferris owns alot most are run down and he wont fix them up but wants high rent on them some he use to rent to local crack dealers that got busted by other departments!!! and how come if a criminal doesnt show up in court he goes to jail but why dont they put the officers in jail if they get a warrentt on someone and dont show up or made to pay a fine? i just wish the feds would come in here and do alot of investigating on the sheriffs office and they need to investigate certain officers girlfriends that are bad on drugs. why they can sell and abuse them and not go to jail. start in taylorville on one girlfriend ask around everyone knows her.

If your talking about the one with the initial C, I heard he married her the day she got out of jail or rehab, I can't remember which. I heard he was insane about her and had met his match or downfall. It wouldn't matter thats not half the double standard around here. I've heard of cops confiscating drugs and keeping them for their own use closed door parties at Spences (cops & their dates only) and first-hand accounts of what went on inside.

yeah thats the initials i know she is still doing drugs i know her family. her aunt is real bad on drugs shoots up and such real bad.but as for spences i use to go there alot and i have to say i never seen that happen i have also been to a few after parties. sorry but i wont lie!!!

Nobody wants ypu to lie, these were private. One of my friends was at one bar and a cop came to get her for somebody. You wouldn't believe the wild things she saw.

It would be so nice to see the feds roll in and take a bunch out of that court house, It would be nice to see the sheriff get paid back for all the people he has done wrong.

amen. you never see the sheriffs office busting people over taylorville maybe somebody needs to find out why a certain officers girlfriends-wife family never gets busted is someone hiding things maybe trooper moore needs to investigate this!!! i also heard joey dropped down off the drug task force maybe he is scared!!!
