I agree with all of you. Boulder used to be cool. But then, we used to be young too! The only cool things about boulder anymore are the arts and crafts bungalows and the front range itself. All of this will be around a million years from now (probably not the bungalows). The place has lost its charm..people came with money and chased the charm out as sure as gravity is the law. The "law" as it is, won't be around forever (and I don't mean gravity-law). So, instruct your great, great, grandchildren on how much fun you used to have in the great little town...maybe they'll resurect fun? Until then, know that in far less than a million years it won't matter. The sun is good for another 4 billion years (unless Al Gore has a say). You all have a falafel, and I'll enjoy my funky Denver as a Boulder transplant.

Oh..I forgot to say that the short lived "Lubin's..Cafe" was a bit magical. Pearl Street Pub and Cellar is probably a good choice from my experience, as a number of you have mentioned. They were never big on late-night coffee though like a Denny's (they just sell the food and booze..then tell ya to go). L.A. Diner..I concur! What happened to the mom and pops in Boulder? I guess they truthfully were fully funded "mega-concepts" at the time (in many cases). We were just too young to know(and nothing necessarily wrong with big money concepts).

Why is this in the Marin IJ?
Food in Denver/Boulder sucks overall, I've worked, and lived there for awhile, so I know...safer to eat at Home, as is the same throughout the Country these days.
But if the food does'nt kill You, the water most deffinately will.

Bunny, I don't know why you think the food in Boulder/Denver sucks. It may not be San Francisco, or NY, but we do have some of the best food and restaurants in the country. One of the chefs from a Boulder restaurant beat chefs fron NY, New Orleans, Los Angeles in a national competition. Either you have never had fine cuisine, or you have an inferior palate. The little town has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the U.S.. They may have more good restaurants in the other cities I mentioned, but you have to deal with 17 million people in some of those cities, too. I don't know why that article is in the Marin independant journal, but maybe they think there are things going on outside of Marin?

Bunny, you also slammed the water, which is closer to a pure source (being close to the snow melt from the Continental devide)than most cities. There are dozens of "Best Water" surveys. I read through five of them. Denver was tied with 4 other cities for the highest rating for water quality and taste (one city was San Fran)in one survey. Colorado Springs was rated honorable mention in another survey. In no survey is Denver/Boulder ranked anything but high on the list. I don't know what you're smokin'? Me thinks you got a grudge. You can't spell either, so I think you're not credible.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
