If you ask me, I would be looking for a white male 40-50 years of age that lives in CC, he is using this vendetta with Wilmington to cover up a grudge....just call it a gut instinct...Those of us that pay attention and live in the neighborhood where the shot took place can tell you it's not the first gunshot we've heard, these little hood rat wannabe's that have moved to town are packing and no one seems to be paying attention. The week before this incident there were two gunshots in the neighborhood that were fired prior to this incident and no officer's they're not fireworks, those of us that have lived in big cities can tell the difference between the two sounds, look a littler closer to home the person you're looking for I would lay money on the fact that he is NOT from Wilmington. In addition, pay a little closer attention to the cars that do 45 MPH plus down oak st, if you strategically sat in someone's driveway you could meet your quota of tickets in a matter of one week. I'm glad I'm moving from the hood!! Shit's gettin' a little too close to home to suit me!

You are wrong it was Wilmington kids for sure. You need the facts to know this. The kids were saw running with the sign at the time of the gun shot. This was not a 40-50 year old as you say in this instance. This was 5 Wilmington kids in a car and one running with the sign and shooting the gun. FACT

Furthermore, the person whose house was involved has done nothing but good for this community and trust me when I say the Wilmington kids aren't that smart. There are so many backstabbing two faced people in this town that are too chicken shit to let someone know they have a problem with them to their face so it would seem a logical assumption that whoever did it is doing it for personal reasons. Try talking to the neighbors we really DO pay attention in our neighborhoods!

I thought they DID catch the kids. I thought there were kids who admitted to doing this. From the report, it seems pretty evident that someone's parents are not doing their job!!

The kids admitted taking the sign, The shot wasn't discovered until days after it took place and was not admitted to by the Wilmington kids.

Pretty sad we have to resort to calling people heffers. How old are you? 12? That in itself seems like a pretty "white trash" thing to do.

You sounds like an under weight heffer, if there is such a thing. Please share with the world your definition of a "heffer"?. What does Webster have to say? Easy up and have a happy meal.

Grow up. I'm sure Coal City is proud to have you and they can keep you. You are pathetic. I'm surprised topix allows garbage like this on here. You "sounds"? You can't even write a sentence and your name calling doesn't bother me. It just makes you look pathetic and weak which, I'm sure you are since, obviously, you are hiding on a forum. As far as the definition of "heffer"....you can't even spell the word correctly. Maybe you should look it up.

Bitch bitch bitch. If you spent more time taking care of your husband and less time at McDonalds the world would be a better place. H-E-F-F-E-R that is how it is spelled in Coal City.
If you do not like the blog move to Wilmington.

I'm not Patty. I just happened upon this and was disgusted by it considering you may be a grown adult. The world would be a better place without small minded individuals like you. Again, I'm sure Coal City is proud to have you. The CC/Wilmo crap...is just that...crap. Some people obviously never left High School. I pity you.

Though I do not live in the area anymore, I am trying to figure out why any adult in there right mind would be so rude. In my opinion, if you are not invovled and just want to voice your two cents, go look in the mirror. I am sure your reflection is ready for the truth, as it seems it has been waiting years to hear it.

And, if you are no better person than to get a kid involved in your self pity and self hatred, you really need some help. You may not like Patty Baskerville, but who cares. Her son, who is still a kid should not have to be treated this way. I hope charges are filed agaist you for problems you yourself are afraid to face. You should be ashamed.

Patty, keep you head up. Some CC residents wonder why no one likes them or cares about their little town. They never get out (and going shopping in Chicago doesn't count). Nothing like getting up every morning to see who I can treat like crap to make myself feel better about my sorry a** life.

You know, people make mistakes. I know when I was in highschool I did things I knew were wrong and I'm sure I'm not the only person who had ever done that. Does that make it the parent's fault? Not at all. Just because a kid makes a mistake everyone instantly blames the parents. It disgusts me how some people have nothing better to do with their lives than bash other people's. Grow up. You're making a fool out of yourself with all of the "heffer" and "mcdonalds" comments. What does any of that have to do with what happened? I'll tell you. Absolutely nothing. Grow up and you might want to find a better hobby.

I agree that the kids taking the signs were wrong. The parents pay good money for those signs. The kids made a dumb juvenile mistake. What I find more appalling is the some adults who are acting like juveniles would make such incredibly rude and ignorant comments about kids. It shows that you’re completely unintelligent and lack any type of morals or good values. I understand you’re upset about what happen, but I feel know is the time to set an example for our youth and show them that you can express your feeling without verbally abusing some ones else point of view.
