The campgrounds are open and the same campers are already staking their same spots they had from April to October last year.

Get on a waiting list and waite for the rest of the years that you would actually be young enough to enjoy the club and then you may get in and I am not even joking! The waiting list is years long! But good luck, maybe it has changed. Oh, and it is a lot of young under age partying out there! If you don't like that you may want to look into some of the other towns and see if their clubs have open memberships.

If anyone underage is caught drinking there or disrespecting any of the rules their whole family that is on the membership is brought before the board. There could be fines, or they have the right to revoke to your membership. All it takes is another member to report it- and nobody is willing to take the chance so it rarely happens.

You may not be aware but the underage partying is a huge thing out there. It has been for years and hasn't changed a bit!!! They certainly aren't doing it right in the center of the camp ground where all the adult campers are parked! The big cadilac shows up at these party spots and that includes an adult driver. Sorry no names mentioned!

It's very disheartening anymore to go to the Area Club. It is not properly maintained by the Manager and his crew. The old guys that cut grass do fine but theo rest of them sit in the shed or ride around and smoke wacky weed all day every day. The board chairman hasnt had them do anything good for the betterment of the club. They dont fill in or level any of the camping areas or seed grass to help make that area nicer. They don't clean the banks along the speedboat area like it used to be cleaned in the past. They don't keep up the roads in the back like it used to be done. And god forbid someone realizes that they camping area is too small for who is camping now. My cousin who camps says the power flickers constantly because of the lack of good wiring in the pedestals that are there. The Chairman is really a goofball when all he wants is to limit the speedboats from going along the Goose Lake road because of the power lines over there. He's so tight he squeaks when he walks. Somebody better wake up and tend to the needs before its too late.

The Area Club president is a joke! Hang a title on him and the uneducated grass cutter thinks he is the Tin Man and got handed a brain. Put a fur coat on him and he thinks he is King Kong. Smart mouth, dictatorial, and a phony. The Club gets better when he gets booted. It's that simple.

I agree. The campground is a mess. New fire spots are started when there is already a dirt spot available 6 feet away. It doesn't help that the manager doesn't do any upkeep of this in the off season. No one has any respect anymore for other campers. They need to start making people go home for at least 24 hours. All the campers 'in the know' empty on Tuesdays and they barely move their location. The playground is also in need of attention. They need to fill in the play area with some shredded rubber. On a good note...the bathrooms are very nice and clean this year at the ski beach and at the campground!

How bout the hidden beach in the back of the club? Do they clean the shores to make it more accomodating to swimmers back there? Everytime we fish during the weekend it's quite obvious that there's a party hole all the way in the back that is known to be the hangout for youth and swimming outside of club rules. Just wait 'til someone drowns or a lawsuit brews and maybe they'll have a different outlook on things. The Manager knows it, the Board members know it but they are doing nothing to protect the interests of other law abiding club members or should we say Club Owners instead...maybe then they will start to get it. It's true that there comes a time for a new leader no matter what reich you're from.
