Is this a sad season or what. We have made more errors than runs batted in this season to date. What the hell happened with Momence. Time to quit the politics and play your best players. Congrat's
to some of the guys with their hitting. Damn, a few have some very hot bats. To bad the defense sucks. This is a rough season to watch our team play.

JV kids should play on the JV team. Varsity kids should play on the varsity team. What McDowell is doing is wrong and just pissing off the kids. How many good baseball players have said "I will not play for McDowell". It did not work with Krobs and it is not working now. The school board should really stop all this nonsense.

The Athletic Director is just as much at fault. He is like an ostich. Sticking his head in the sand and saying I do not see nor hear any problems. My daughter came home from school and said a number of football players will not be playing this fall.
What is that all about? Both the players and parents are tired of all the politics. So sad,

Don't know or care about the baseball issues. But regarding the boys who will not be playing football next year. You are talking about a hand full of next years Juniors who are mamas boys who think they are too good to sit the bench in front of a very good Senior class. So instead of doing the right thing by being good teammates by biding their time and helping out where they can they will not play then TRY to play again their Senoir year only to sit the bench again to a good class behind them. I think their parents should go get them a very good set of golf clubs

Yes, they are a bunch a Sally's! How many of the ladies are stepping down from football. Forget the golf clubs, maybe they should consider pom poms or band. Do not like to use names of kids on this site. What uniform numbers? Just curious? Yes, baseball is sad this year. But I still enjoy going to the games.

Coaches will coach however they like. These are the same complaints in every school for at least 40 years. Doesn't matter what sport. So lighten up, it's a game.

ccc sadly typed:

definitely written by a piece of split tail. perfect example why all these kids grew up getting "participation" trophies for doing nothing, where winning didnt matter, and where everyone got their turn to play a certain position. everyone would wear tampons with this kind of mentality. typical "XX" chromosome weakness

I just hate whinning women. So your boy is going out for the pom pom team. So what. You ladies bitch bitch and bitch. So your son grows up and is on Dancing with the Stars! Better you girlie son than mine. Same crap we heard from my moms in Miner's. You are right it never changes. The real men and their son's will be playing football while the women and their girlie son's go out for cheerleading and pom's. And quit lumping me in with others. Chris Crawford for President! That's right!

The best speech I ever heard about was from the head coach at Parkland Community College years back from the baseball coach. He sat the team down and said he didn't care which parents paid money to the booster club, which parents kissed a** when they were in high school, some of you are going to go home and cry to your mommies about play time, and some of you are here from recommendations that I didn't agree with that the athletic director made. The bottom line is that I am going with the best nine players that have WORKED HARD and deserve to be playing. That team went on to a record of 68 wins and 8 losses and won the division II World Series.
People, there is life after high school. Get over it and move on.
Oh, and by the way there were 6 mommas boys on that team who didn't come back the next year,

I could not have said it better. I have been saying exactly that for years. There is a whole big life outside of Grundy Co. after high school.
Do not let your parents pull you into the b.s.
Look what happened to them.

All of these people that think their kids are all that and a bag of generic chips should listen to what a high school custodian told me a long time ago. Some of the best athletes are the ones walking the halls and don't go out for sports.
I had a nephew who blew his knee out and still got scholarship offers. He had several Division III schools offer him wrestling scholarships and he chose to go Division I as a walk on. He decided rather than be a big fish in a little pond he went Division I and wrestled every day in practice against a guy who went on to the Olympics. He knew after blowing his knee out his future was limited and he is now in med school.
People you need to realize that very few high school locals make it to the next level so quit living life vicariously through your children and mold them in to young inidividuals that are our future in the greatest country in the world the United States.

The parents of these Coal City Upper Crusties children did not hear a word you said. Like I said above, "look what happened to them (i.e. their parents). Still here in Coal City. Living the boring life. What turmoil exists with the varsity team? I know. Do you?

Its a damn shame that the best baseball coach in town teaches and coaches in another district.
