I have known the owner for over 35 years. She is the most loving, trustworthy, compasionate, animal lover that walks the face of this earth. I believe that the people that have posted previously are out for revenge, to ruin her business. I have been in her shop on numerous occassions, while she is working on both cats and dogs, and she is nothing but professional. If she wasn't a great groomer, than she would not still be in business. If you would explain your concerns in an adult manner, she would probably fix it.
She may love dogs but she sure as hell cant give them a decent haircut...I am not posting to ruin her business nor am i on here for revenge...I just want Coal City dog owners to know that this lady is like Edward Scissor Hands! Try the Clip...

But i'm not stupid. This site saves your home location based on the computer from which you log in, and this same person has posted from Channahon, IL several times, claiming to be different customer. He/she also rants and raves about Surface Ride Shop all over the forums. I hope his/her stupid, juvenile antics haven't cost these hair groomers any business, as this moron obviously has his/her own agenda. =\ I hate stupid people...

While I acknowledge that there are many ways to change ones location on this site, I am under the impression that the person I was talking about is far too stupid to do so.

Do you seriously think everyone has a different home location and not more than one has a channahon. You certainly aren't as smart as you think you are.

I have had several poor experiences at The Clip. This actually made me want to get my own degree and cut my dog myself, so I did, I have been doin it for about 6 months. I do it out of my home and have several clients. I believe that the dog AND owner come first. Thus far all my clients have loved their pet`s when they arrive to pick them up!!!!

I had the same experience. I couldn't get my dog in at the usual place so I tried this place. She came back totally shaved down. Now here's my question:
When a dog is dropped off to be groomed, shouldn't a professional, trained groomer be able to take a look at the dog and determine there's a chance it may have to be shaved? And if so, don't you think the right thing to do is TELL THE OWNER
B E F O R E
you do it so they at least have the option of walking out the door with the dog or telling the groomer over the phone, "never mind, I'll come pick my dog up"?
My dog walked around in November with no hair looking like a damned otter because of that place.
For the record, I've had nothing but good experiences at The Clip and they have never shaved my dog down, even tho a couple of times I have taken her in there looking worse than she did the time All Paws shaved her down.

I would never charge you full price for a job I didn't do? If you can provide your name, I'd be happy to check my records.. but as a normal procedure... I do not charge for pets that I can't finish, I'd refer you to a vet for completion with medication. I've had 2 in my career, and one was a dog large dog and the owners stayed, and one a cat...So, This post doesn't sound true to me at all! If it were, you'd of called and I'd of fixed it!

I'm very glad that now there are new laws that don't allow someone to remain anonymous online. I'd encourage people who can't pick up the phone and address their issues with the business to remember that.

A Laptop IP address location can change as many as 15 to 20 times an hour if you are on the move.....and sometimes it may show a different location when used from the same desk over and over.....do not try to understand it. I live in SW Will county, use my laptop w/broadband card often. Same location within my home(the couch) will show Ohio, Florida, Nebraska......Signal, repeaters and towers all vary.

I have been to All Paws several times, I've had nothing but good experiences. By the time I take my dog in, she is matted (because she is difficult to brush). She is a old terrier and Dawn always treats her well. Yes we laugh when she gets shaved but she is much happier. So thank you Dawn for taking such good care of our old girl!

My sister recently moved back home from Carbondale and brought her toy poodle with her. As most people know a poodle needs frequent professional grooming on top of at home care. Eddie (the poodle) loves to go to the groomers. All my sister wanted for him was to get a trim( he does not get traditional poodle cut), his nails cut, and a hygiene trim. She couldn't get him into the Clip so she tried all paws. When she picked him up she found that the groomer had somehow managed to cut his penis. Eddie has gone to the groomers many times in Carbondale, and many times at the clip since she has been home and nothing like this has every happened. I will definitely not be taking any of my other animals there. And i'm a new person also. So if I get a reply saying i'm trying to ruin your business....
Actually, yes you are. Might I just say that I work there and do the book keeping for All Paws, and I also do the client data base which links all dogs by breed and name. There has been no Eddie in over 8 months. The last Eddie was a spaniel. And if you say you are changing the dogs name to protect privacy when you have the nerve to say what you have already said, than you are more dillusional than I thought. We don't go near The penis on the dog with anything that can cut, and all shavers have guards. If you would like, you are more than welcome to come in sometime and watch us groom. By the way....you started things off saying it is your sister's dog....and ended up saying how YOU will never bring any of YOUR other animals in again, and how YOU are the new client. In the begining, it was your sister's dog. So what's up with that? lol Have a great day!:)

Oh and yes i'm trying to hide "the dog's identity." Lady, unlike you i'm an adult. And not mentally unstable. Calm down. Although, now that you mention it, from your reactions on this website I probably should have protected the dogs idenity. You seem like the person who would do something malicious.

Should have read the posts from all of the previous customers before I brought my dog here. Brought her in for a shampoo and nail clip. Not only did my dog get her nail cut to the quick which continued to bleed for an hour after I picked her up she came home with FLEAS! What groomer doesn't keep their work area clean I ask. Brought in a dog for a shampoo and got the bonus of a bad case of fleas! My dog had to be treated for fleas at the vet since I was worried she might have caught something else there too. I see the owner is very defensive and does NOT accept any part of her responsibility. Pretty sure she will deny this too. Being new to the area this was a hard lesson learned about a poor quality service at my dogs pain and expense.

I am not sure of all the negitivity on this place, but I LOVED it! When my dog went in, she had several knots on her, and Dawn and her staff called me to give me options on grooming her, and we decided a shave down is the best. She made my pet look absolutely wonderful when I know sometimes sadie (my dog) is never on her "best" behavior. A wiggler she is! I tried the other two places in town and was not that impressed. To each his own, but we will stick with All Paws!
