The town meeting to determine if Cousin Vinny's (Little Maria's) was cancelled tonite. I can not believe what the board is doing to that poor family. Cancelling the meeting is them just waisting time. First they say the location is not zoned commercial...than why are they letting the other business stay open? And for them wanting Vinny to add 4 parking spaces...I think its convenient that the board now needs them to have a larger parking lot. When a resturant was in there, parking wasnt a problem. So why would a carryout resturant be a problem??? And for the other resturant owners in this town making it hard for him to open is a disgrace, using your being a board member to keep other pizza place from opening is terrible. Maybe its time to vote in fair board members. It's terrible that HE is doing everything he can so they can't open. Are you really that scared to let him open? Are you scared they will take business away from YOU? Just so you know I will NEVER order from the other pizza place ever again!!! Good Luck Cousin Vinny's, we all miss you!

Who is the business owner? Does the business name begin with a "g"? And is located by two bars? I would like to know because I to will never buy another pizza from there.

I agree that they should allow Vinny's to open.... But to get down on a place for having there face in the paper when they give stuff away is the most assine thing I have ever heard. How do you know how much they donate....I worked for them for years... And all I can say is you have no idea how much they do that is not in the paper. Why don't you take everything you have made for the last 20 years and give %10 of it away.... After you do that then you have room to talk about how other people give back.

I'm am a bit lost to your point.... you don't agree that they give more than most people know. And I don't understand why you feel that they should not get recognized for all that they donate. I do think it is part of there business plan to give back in hopes it sheds good light on them. But I just don't see how that's a bad thing. Think how great it would be if all the businesses gave that much back.

Little Maria's, Rachetti's, Geo's, La Piazza, the Chrome Rack...how many pizza places does this area need. Ditto on the Mexican. How about a Thai place? Or a Portillos? Or an Al's Beef? A Melting Pot? A Chili's? A Culver's?...or, better still, a McDonald's that isn't a sh*thole full of flies, an ex-crackwhore manager, and two dozen potty mouthed teenagers full of body piercings, tattoos and STDs???

My tattoos are art. I got a shot for that STD.

You can change the name as many times as you want to but the food still sucks. Changing the location isn't gonna help either.

Every meal that I have had with Little Maria's had always been delicious! The only reason that restaurant had any problems was because of stupid people trying to take advantage of them. They are a hard working family, which half of the people in this nation knows nothing about! Jeff you probably think McDonald's is fine dining with the infestation of rats they have.

maybe the village is giving them a hard time because they cost the village 15000 to tear down there old building. they did not respond to notices for demolition of structure. it doesnt matter if they open or not the food is not good and they just wount pay there bills so it will close in a month. worry about getting your house out of foreclosure and get a job

But that last part was just not needed.

My understanding was that D Construction bought that corner property and that they tore down the building because it was beyond repair and they didn't want to let it sit empty. (And, just my guess, why pay taxes on a building if you're not going to rent it.) I heard this second-hand, so maybe I'm all wet. If my source is correct, then I'd bet the guys from D are going to sit on it and wait til the market comes back because that corner would be a good spot for a fast food restaurant in better times. I don't think it had anything to do with the folks from Little Maria's not paying their bills, but what do I know. I ate there several times over the years and their thin-crust pizza wasn't half bad. Better than Geo's in my view.

Yes it is true that someone in the D construction family owns the property and yes anything is better than Geos pizza but little marias food sucked and it wasn't just the pizza. And for the person who says I think mcdonalds is fine dining, no I don't think so but mcdonalds is and always will be better than cousin vinnys little marias or any thing you want to call it Ed Banks wrote: My understanding was that D Construction bought that corner property and that they tore down the building because it was beyond repair and they didn't want to let it sit empty.(And, just my guess, why pay taxes on a building if you're not going to rent it.) I think Vinny needs to bring back the hot sub sandwich they used to have back in the old location. Subway is boring. And their recipe for pastas and pizzas beats the franchise junk in town any day. But carry out only should have a drive thru.
That old building should have burned down back in 1990 when the chimney caught fire. There's a few other buildings in town that need the same remodel. That said, the village may have something with the sub-par real estate in this town.

Geo's is pre-made crust that they throw some canned veggies on and imitation meat. The one red headed fat cow that has worked there forever is a witch. Got the worst case of food poisoning from there. Better off going and buying a frozen Tombstone pizza.
Can't wait for Vinnies to open- calls will be made to the village board and hall!
