Pa teachers are lucky. They have great pay and great benefits. I wonder if Indiana County teachers ever stop to think that most of the taxpayers in their district work low paying jobs with NO benefits. Do ANY teachers in PA ever stop to think of the taxpayers. I doubt it. How would those teachers like to live on $5.15 an hour like I used to? No benefits or vacation either. Teachers are important; they are NOT gods.

I'm sure you never thought of the $30,000 or more teachers invest in their own educations before you posted the comments that you did. Not to say anything of the requirements to continue with more credits to obtain permament certification. When teachers are paid for what they do, and those they teach learn, they should never have to settle for $5.15 per hour. Education will get them out of this cycle.

Yes I have thought of what teachers spend on education. I am sick to death of teachers demanding full medical benefits with no co pays. I am tired to teachers demanding outrageous vacation and benefit packages that causes school districts to raise property taxes. Thats what I am tired of.

This is ridiculous!! I am an educated person who spent the money, went to school and got a nursing degree. I sure as heck dont make an average of 50,000 a year!! I understand teachers are important but you arent any more special than the next hard working person!! I work my butt off to support my family and I pay into my health plan. I work overtime, holidays, weekends and nights. I also work close to 300 days a year. I live in a nice home, drive new vehicles & I average 32,000 a year. My question is this- where do these teachers think they need more than most?? If I mess up at my job a life could be in danger. If you mess up teaching, what happens?? Sure we would all like to make more money but the teachers need to get over it, you're giving our district a bad rep. Quit whining!!
