I agree that it is a poor idea to send in a SWAT team at 3:00 a.m. when you could accomplish the same thing with one officer and a polite knock on the door at 3:00 p.m. I prefer Mayberry style policing when i can get it.That said if some kid draws down on a cop;i hope they kill his ass efficiently.

Once again we agree, I like the old school police as well. If an individual tries to harm or kill an officer I too hope the officer drops them. Where the problem lies is the fact the what actually happened is rarely what you hear on the news or see in the police report. They justify the killing after the fact and feed the story as they see fit. It is the very attitude that you and I have just expressed that enables them to do it. We all want to believe our police are honorable and honest. We all want them to reduce crime. We can't endorse government sanctioned vigilantes. Because we as a society continue to condone / justify / overlook the the unnecessary deaths, they are increasing. They will continue to increase until we, as a society, pull in the reigns and bring the police back into line with the Constitution. I want a crime free land as much as anyone but I'm not willing to see one innocent person die to get it.

I don't see moderation,common sense,or increased freedom in the near future.I do see a race between anarchy(criminals) and tyranny(police state)------guess i will need locks,chain link,and a gun regardless.
