Kid taken by parents equals amber alert? Yet again, tax payer expenses exposed through too much being spent on stupidity. This was a domestic issue at best, not needing national attention.

Anytime a child goes missing form somewhere they are legally suppose to be is a national issue! This child was clearly taken from parents who were unable to provide a safe environment for her. Forcing that child back into the unsafe environment could result in the child's death. If the parents wanted their child back they should have found a way to get their acts together. It is a sad misconception these days that birthing a child automatically makes you a mother. There are so many parents out there that do not deserve to have their child(ren). I will gladly give up my tax dollars to help find ANY child who is missing from where they should be!

It was NOT a domestic issue. The child had been removed from the custody of the sperm donor and the gestational brooder and through court order the child been given into the custody of Campbell County Social Services. There is no "domestic" relationship between a person(s) and a government agency.

Any tax money spent to assure the safety and wellbeing of a child is money well spent. It is certainly cheaper than the costs of the arrest, courts and incarceration after they seriously harm or kill the child.

Straight from the AMBER Alert website: "Plans require a child be at risk for serious bodily harm or death before an alert can be issued.". I do not see how this is the case based on the information in the story. If the parents did not want the child they would not have taken her. Sounds like the state fraudulently enlisted the public to steal a child.
