You know what people my last name should say it all if your from artesia or cralsbad, my family has hired lots of lawyers from gary michele to shawn lundsford an paid way more money for gary and in the end got screwed by him. Shawn may not be the best or most experienced attorney but I can personaly vouch for his work, he don't bs u and has never tried to take advantage of our situation in fact even was willing to work with us on several different cases and he may not of won every single case but he did do his best and make sure that we didn't get totaly screwed over by this so called justice system so to all of you out there runing at the mouth do yourself a favor and thank the justice system not the attorney and if you think he did such a bad job than next time do it yourself.
I personally don't know your name,I do see it is a "females" name. meaning you too must have done more to help your case as well, or he was desperate at that time for work. and the highlight of this "RANT" in your case I find most amuzing is where you say "in fact even was willing to work with us on several different cases" several huh? says alot about you than, right? and FYI "we're not running at the mouth" as you speak honey, it's called voicing our opinions,(just as you have done) and some people may like to consider it as a warning to our fellow citizens. and in conclusion, yes your right, we will do it ourselves, unfortunately their will NOT be a "next" time, such as yourself.
Their is a Stephanie that works in his office now, is this you??? must be

I have nothing good to say about this attorney nor his staff that works for him. He just sent an innocent man to prison. I have to say that after paying him all the money that he asked for he did nothing to save this individual and believe me there was alot that could have been done. His staff is very rude, they take a very long time to return phone calls and when they do it's always "I will relay the message" and that is it. Do not waste your money and time with Shawn, nothing good will come out of it. I just wish we would have known more about him before hiring him but believe me I will make sure that the word does get out on how crooked this attorney is. Carlsbad is not very big so it won't be hard to do. But i do believe in Karma and i'm sure it will bite him where the sun don't shine and i hope it bite's him very very hard!!!!

Everyone needs to remember that he is the only one responsible for his behavior, not his family.

I just read the Carlsbad news online, and I have to say that I am very glad that they are finally doing something about this individual. I really do hope that he get's what he deserves. It really sucks because no matter what the innocent individuals that were sent to prison are having to deal with this man's actions in much harder way. But always remember that we do not leave this world without paying for our actions. Let's see how he likes it, now the tables have turned!!!!!!

I am so very angry at this so called lawyer for what he put our son and our family through. He has completely destoyed our belief in the judicial system .I hope other lawyers see this. It gives them a bad name too.Hope he gets what he deserves and see how it feels to be on the other side.I am glad that he is being investigated now. Its about time!!! Hope he gets whats coming to him. DISBARED,FINED, AND RUN OUT OF TOWN!!!!

Assuming you never stopped to think maybe all the staff COULD do was "relay the message," and that perhaps they were just as frustrated as the clients at his actions. His staff was often overworked, underpaid, and, to top it off, spent the majority of every day getting yelled at for things about which they could do NOTHING.
Secretaries can't MAKE their bosses call people back. Secretaries can't MAKE their bosses do the things they're supposed to do.
As for the rest of your post...AMEN!!

Former Carlsbad attorney gets disbarred, charged with DUI on the same day
From the Current-Argus

From the Current-Argus
CARLSBAD One former Carlsbad attorney was disbarred and received his first drunk driving charge within the same day, officials said Thursday.

Wednesday morning in Santa Fe, former Carlsbad attorney Shawn Lunsford, 44, was stripped of his license to practice law by the N.M. Supreme Court and must wait at least five years before applying for reinstatement.

The justices announced the decision from the bench, with a written order to follow, said Carlsbad attorney Matthew Byers, the inventorying attorney for Lunsford's case files, who was present at the hearing.

Byers began inventory after Lunsford abandoned his local law practice in November 2011, leaving his clients without representation.

The bad news continued when, on Wednesday night, Lunsford was picked up by Carlsbad police for reportedly driving under the influence.

Lunsford pleaded not guilty in magistrate court Thursday morning to the DWI and to leaving the scene of an accident after police received an emergency call at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday from a local man, who was driving a Hummer and reported being followed by Lunsford in his Ford pick-up truck.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the case, Lunsford, reportedly driving recklessly, followed the man eastbound on Church Street towards Canal Street.

After turning north onto Canal, officers reportedly attempted to stop Lunsford by using their emergency lights. Lunsford reportedly eventually came to a stopwhen the driver of the Hummer blocked his way on Canal Street.
Lunsford allegedly refused to comply with police commands and ran his truck into the Hummer before ignoring police commands and leaving the scene to pursue the Hummer south down Canal.

With police in pursuit, Lunsford followed the man to a gas station located on Canal and Church streets, where he reportedly made two laps through the station parking lot before high-centering his truck on the curb on the north side of the parking lot.

He reportedly again ignored several police commands before being observed to lethargically exit the truck. He was then taken into custody and taken to the police department.

In an interview with the driver of the Hummer, police reportedly learned that the man was at a local restaurant earlier in the night with Lunsford's ex-wife when Lunsford showed up, seeming upset.

"I don't want any problems," the man reportedly said before leaving the restaurant, with Lunsford in pursuit shortly after. When the man noticed he was being followed, he called 911.

At the police department, Lunsford reportedly told officers that he was released from the Carlsbad Medical Center an hour prior to the incident and then learned about his ex-wife possibly having dinner with a man.

"Me and my wife are not yet divorced and we are working things out," Lunsford allegedly told the man when he arrived at the restaurant.

He later reportedly admitted that he followed the man to see if his "wife was with him," adding that he didn't see the police who were behind him.

According to the complaint, Lunsford told police he had not had any alcohol five hours prior to the incident, but had taken an undisclosed type of medication.

He also told police he was not aware that he hit the Hummer during the incident.

Lunsford was later taken back to the hospital for a voluntary blood draw, which was submitted into evidence and shipped to the Toxicology Bureau in Albuquerque.

After his initial court appearance, the bond was set at $2,500 surety and court officials said Lunsford was placed on home detention.

I haven't heard anything about this scumbag in the news lately. Last i heard he was out on bail for an assortment of charges (negligent use of a deadly weapon, interference with police communications, Driving While Under the influence of assorted drugs, and... i'm not really sure what to call it when he rams a car twice, then tries to attack someone, then leaves the scene of an accident and resists arrest)

Anyone heard anything about him? I like to keep tabs on the scumbags running around my hometown.

If you see him, though, give him a good kick for me, will ya?

also, does anyone find it shady that he got such a low bail?$2,500? For stalking/harrasing his ex-wife, ramming another vehicle, and probably DWI? Since you only have to pay 10% he would only have to pay $250... after he almost killed that guy? WTF?

I'm thankful for Shawn Lunsford....and Micheal Golpin. These two 'floaters' bring up the lawyer stink that really makes people deservedly mad.

But let's look deeper into what's truely wrong with America. Congress has about a 9% approval rating and most of them are lawyers. ALL of their staff are lawyers. The last 4 presidents have been scumbball-lawyers. All TWELVE of the supreme-court justices are rotten-jew lawyers. Every talk show host on AM is a lawyer.

It's not a stretch to connect the dots and I can't be the only one who has made the connection by now.
