Fire destroys downtown Cloudcroft buildings

There is not anything that is more devastating to a community than to have private homes or businesses burned to the ground.

I find it odd that they would demolish one of the buildings prior to determining what caused the fire. Suspicious if you ask me.

I assume you are talking about the Copper Butterfly building. The building was demolished because the fire gutted the building and was going to fall down anyway. The fire burned the roof off and everything inside. There was nothing left. So what is suspicious of that? You go and try to determine what caused the fire when there is nothing left to look at.

There is always something left to look at, but can it be found is the question.

Iam so sorry to hear about the loss....We had a cabin up there for several years and would stop in and for a ice cream cone and fudge...Still come up every summer for a few days and will miss the Copper Butterfly for a fact...Hope everyone had insurance and can rebuild and start over....God bless everyone and Merry Christmas to all.....
