Have we forgotten Bill Richardson's part in all of this? His Pit Rules? His buy out by the trucking companies who haul the fluids from the rig location? And he was appointed by Marxist OBAMA to our Secretary fo Commerce....and the stink of rot was so be he had to pull out. Did ya notice that Tom Dashel pulled out today. did everyone forget the wonderful Gov. we have and the delightsome pitrules he was so eager to put into law? I wonder how much this is impacted the jobs? As far as Obama your all right who said he could not impact this so quickly in the short amount of time at least your right to a certain degree people have no confidence in him and thus will not extend the money needed for our growth to continue.. Now What the "F" in a reply to your comment about the bad loans this was all started by the feel good Democrats you support and sound like so well-- starting with Carter than Clinton who supported the everyone can have a house act even if they can't afford it bill! and now we have a strong Democrat congress / senate who are preparing to pass the biggest PORK Laden Bill ever to push forth their feel good agenda and of course this will come at the cost of you and I who work for a living.

Dog, you got to be the biggest dope anyone has known. Out sourcing was done a long time before Obama got in. Cause he's Black you want to blame HIM. LOOK to your Repbulican Brothers that did this. Stay in your part of the country. One thing no one can take from you is your education. Sounds like alot of uneducated people who want $35/hr. job but don't want to get an education.

I hate to be the one to inform you but I have a useless education with a degree from our local college that has not gotten me anywhere but working in the oil field for better money. So if having a degree puts me in the catogory of being uneducated then how do you explain the engineers, geologists and other high paying jobs that require and education to have those positions?

Hey brother, if your are a good hand, look at Fort Smith AR, VA, PA and NY. The Obama loving part of the country are starting to realize that they need natural gas and are starting to drill.(Compare the NY City Gate price to our Henery Hub.) They need hands that understand coal bed methane and shallow gas.
I have been in this area for 12 years and can give my very modest house over to a rental management company and still cut a profit. I love this area but have been in the oilfield too long to have put my eggs in one basket. Once Santa Fe and domestic demand causes a collapse, I will say goodbye to my 'Abbey Country' and walk in order to fill my retirement kitty elsewhere.
I do have empathy to the service industry pukes that are too shortsighted to have their own bail out plan.
Again brother, walk from your stuff after you find a job elsewhere. Remember that there are millions of gas fired stoves and heaters across this land.... And also remember communism and national socialism are failed experiments. Have hope, because history has a tenacious habit of repeating itself.

When Bill Richardson crammed the new pit rules down our throat, he waw no doubt high on crack.

He thought, "I'll make those damn filthy rich oil companies pay a couple of hundred thousand dollars more to drill. I'll make them haul their fluids to a state approved waste site."

"My friends own these waste disposal sites, so they will prosper. My friends also own the trucking companies that will haul the fluids. The disposal site owners, and the truck owners will fuund my presidential campaign, and keep me living high on the hog with a constant stream of kick-backs and graft."

Well Mr. Richardson. The Exploration companies decided your new sky high permit fees, coupled with more hands hout for approval, add to that the monis needed to make your disposal site and injectionw ell friends filthy rich, and the vacuum truck owners likewise filthy rich had a impact you were too stupid to visualize. They STOPPED drilling.

The drilling stopped. And Shazam! Supply houses are anot selling casing or tubing, bits or gloves. And the frac companies have nothing to frace. So you have all just received a free lesson inhow corrupt socialism operates. The thing that strikes me as odd, is that the governors seem to be even more corrupt than the president. But take cheer. OBAMA will fix everything. We will be his slaves. He will dole out the soup and bread crusts.

Well, this dialog is typical of a recession - I am an educated (MBA) local native woman who works in the oil and natural gas industry - I must stress that hard work and education is relevant in this economy.

Time to pay the reaper. God's pissed off at you because God Bless America is a plea not an entitlement. God Bless America doesn't mean God Damn Everyone else.

And no you are not entitled to a $35 per hour job just because you work the oil field.

And no you are not entitled to cheep gas.

None of that is promised in the constitution.

It's Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. Not here is your golden parachute and your hummer. Pursuit is not a promise.

Swettie. You may have a couple of degrees. And I do not fault you for the hard work it took to earn them.

But. It does not take any degree to hook up for a frac, to run the compressors, etc. Just a lot of good judgement, brains and courage, and good safety gear. Betcha you couldn't pull off a frac, and the loss of these jobs at Weatherford has NOTHIING to do with these folks having, or not having degrees.

It's economics hon. No drilling. No completions. No completions. No fracs. And it wouldnt make a tinkeers damn if the whole crew had PHD's or were PE's. When corrupt government makes it unprofitable to explore, the jobs go. And the next batch of lay offs just might include you.

Guess all these people losing their jobs in the patch can become actors and actresses in all the big budget movies Bill Richardson encouraged to be filmed here with his other buyout, under the table payoff. He'll retire a rich man and go back to where he came from after making fools out of everyone in New Mexico. He'll be kicking back and laughing his ass off while New Mexicans are unemployed and having their homes foreclosed on.

a couple of degrees? make it five- it WAS hard work!

and we must remember that it took engineers, geologists and MBA's to study the economics, planning and design of drilling a well - which, of course, requires the logistics of drilling a well - sweetie!

get a REAL education, not some peddly technical degree from San Juan. Those degrees are worthless! You might as well consider them to be certificates.

Well if having an Applied Science for Industrial Water Treatment is a peddly technical degree then why did it cost me $15,000 to complete it. I'm sure that only an UNEDUCATED person can make those kind of comments in the first place. I'm sure that there are many people out there that may have graduated with those peddly technical degree's that are successful and probably making more money than you. I applaud anyone that even makes the effort to attend school weather it turns out for the better or not. It just so happened that oil paid much better than water for me. Which by having my degree is actually what got me in the door to one of the best oil field companies in this town, right after I graduated. All I got left to say is STFU....figure it out if you can!
