Don't toss old water heaters into arroyos or leave them street side. Officials with Greentree Solid Waste Authority will pay for discarded appliances, if owners deliver them to the recycling center on U.S. 70 east of Ruidoso Downs.
Seems like no one is smart enough to learn the lessons that others have already learned.I hope Greentree has all the records and a video system to help the police find the thief if Greetree was the place they fenced it to.
Unfortunately, as close as we are to the Mexican border, there is always a market for scrap - whether cardboard, junk cars or scrap metal.
The amazing thing is that there are not many more thefts from vacant houses - so many easy targets.
