Piss Poor Postal Service

My letters regularly sit in my mailbox with the flag up for 3 days. The mailman drives PAST it EACH day and stops 12 yards further on down at my nextdoor neighbor's box to deliver mail. When I querried directly about it, the reply was,'Letter pickups are now a courtesy, not a requirement.'
It seems to me:
1/3 of a mailman's job is pickup
1/3 of a mailman's job is sorting
1/3 of a mailman's job is delivery
I dare each of you company-employed working schlubs to try this: Sluff off 1/3 of your responsibilites if you feel like it. Respond to 1/3 of your boss's directives with a firm but snively, "I might do that....but it'd be just a courtesy..."
Oh, I almost forgot. Garnish a %7 pay increase against your company's future earnings every 2 years citing, "Well, I'll file personal bankruptcy if you don't pay."
Try it! Let me know how that public sector line of thinking works out for y'all.
