The Alamogordo City Commission might display "In God We Trust" in city commission chambers, following in the footsteps of Artesia, which approved the measure late last year.

Not surprised at all by hearing this as these conservative evangelicals here are like cockroaches as they are crawling around everywhere constantly witnessing to one another while wearing their goonish 'Pee Wee Herman' outfits !!

I"m a Christian but I don't want this added to our city logo as it is too exclusive. It does NOT represent all of the city's residents.

Alamogordo loves controversy to get into the news. Thats all this is. Look at me, look at me. There has never been a need for a logo in the past, why bother with it now. How stuped. The logo should read..."Go Tigers"!

The city already has itself a logo. The phrase or statement would just be added. I assume it can be done in a document editing tool on a random computer. At least there's open discussion on all sides of the issue. I'm against adding the phrase, but it also wouldn't hurt anything. You know what hurts is when monopoly type currency bills don't go far in the stores anymore. A phrase can't fix that, but it can't make it worse either.

I think it more appropriate to have a logo saying something about trusting in reasoned solutions that benefit equally all our present and future citizens as well as our environment. "Go Tigers" would be my second choice.

There is a reason why you are not in charge of anything. I think you just posted that reason.

Why do the city council members think they must force their religious beliefs onto the city? Not all city residents believe in a God. Why can't they accept that? It's akin to Jehova witness's knocking on your door and then try to force their religious view points down your throat.

It's like the liberals forcing gay marrriage, abortion, wars and welfare on the rest of us. Just take it.......

I applaud Warriors comments! All the socialist in our society are trusting the government to lead us into a dictatorship. We will soon owe the govt the shirts off our backs. Have you read the book, "If you give a mouse a cookie"? The handouts and freebies aren't without strings, and in the end we will all lose all. We now find ourselves in reverse discrimination and reverse slavery. Class warfare! Who's working hard and paying taxes, and who's sitting around collecting the government checks that have spent us into a deficit that our great-grandchildren will be enslaved to pay back?!

No, it's not! You don't have to get married just because you are gay, WARRIOR. You can, however, if you want to and depending on the state, but nobody forces you. And as far as abortion goes, that's a decision to be made by women, not men. Welfare is good for the economy and wars are good for the rich people. Have you ever heard of a liberal war? I hate war.

A good portion of Alamogordians are Christians and, after all, there is freedom of expression and they have a right to say "In God We Trust", even if they don't trust in God. It seems that you place a lot of restrictions on "other people." It's not like a Republican to do that. Republicans traditionally stand for individual freedom, as do I.

You want them to make room for you, why won't you make room for them. Shall we receive good and not accept bad? Some days your the windshield and some days your the bug. No one is forcing anything on anybody. Go to the town meeting because your wasting your breath here!

The logo is just a logo,it's what's done in the offices of leaders and their meetings that should be done with integrity and honor representing all citizens in excellence. That is what is usually absent in many cities, states, and the nation.

Get a grip thanks warrior. Warrior the she/male is an ordinary human like the rest of us. Just has two sex organs and an oversized mouth. Your worshiping such a needy person is truly unsettling. Maybe you need to send your sock puppet to the cleaners and start again.
