We have been flying them. So for the people who think we have not your wrong. Although with only two aircraft right now and only due to get 5 every three months starting in Jan of next year. It may be a while before you hear a lot of jet noise.

Also before the OPSEC people jump on me again all the information above has already been put out to the public i am just restating it.

I live on base, and yes there is noise. However, we and our children, know that this comes with the territory. Our three year old is scared of the noise the planes make, but we just tell her "sweetie, those are just daddy's planes." Eventually she will get used to it, just like everyone else has. I have to say, I have lived downtown Alamogordo and on Holloman AFB, and the peace and quiet at night on base, sure beats having less sonic booms downtown. Yes it is noisy here during the day, but after 10 pm, all you hear is the wind!

Oceana has been flying there for how long? I was at NAS Norfolk during the early 70's,
lived at VA Beach, and if you didn't know there was a jet base there, you couldn't tell from the highway.

Where we are in NM, there are a couple of military bases near here for most all of our lives. No big wow either way. I know the area would miss them if they weren't here.

I guess I don't understand your question. I'll vote a definite maybe.

You are still about as clear as mud. Rather than going towards a statement in such a roundabout way, why don't you get right to it rather than have us guess your meaning. I mean, most people would say something like, "You ought to try living here for a while if you think yours is so bad."

Is it your choice to live there or does someone have you chained to a wall right next to an open window? Plus, this is a local forum and we can say what we want to about local issues. You need to get on a Norfolk/Chesapeake forum if you want to gripe about your noises. Have you lived in Alamogordo, ever?

Please feel free to stop by the Norfolk, VA Topix Forum whenever you get the chance to, "What and Where"!!!
