What a horrible thing to happen! I am glad no one was injured, but this will be a big blow to the individuals and owners of the businesses, and to the entire village of Cloudcroft. Best wishes to everyone involved, and we wish you a speedy return to operation. All of Cloudcroft is in our prayers.

Do we know yet which shops and businesses were a total loss? Yesterday I heard two but now it is sounding like many more.

The fire destroyed Copper Butterfly & Pine Stump Mall with Dave's Cafe, Sisters, Yeti's Gift Shop, Hank's Hair Shop, and Treeriffic. Unconfirmed reports of smoke/water damage to Instant Kharma and Western Bar on Twitter.

Kudos to the fire department and their response. This fire could have been so much worse considering the age of all the buildings along Burro Street.

This may not be such a sad thing after all with the economy being what it is and if these people had insurance then they may have made out quite well! Good thing no one was hurt!
