What is the issue regarding the strike
#2 Apr 2, 2014
Trax had proposed a package to the workforce that would have the workers driving and servicing vehicles without pay among other things.
There was a lot of things contained in the package that meant losses to the employees.
Trax also dragged negotiations out until just a couple days before the existing agreement expired, leaving no time to return to negotiations if the proposed agreement got voted down. Due to losses contained in the proposed package, it did get voted down, and with only a few hours left before the expiration of the existing agreement. The workers went on strike instead of working without a contract. If Trax had been serious about working out an agreement with the workers in a timely manner, there would have been time to return to the negotiation table instead of having a strike.

So when it came time for some austerity in the government sector that is paid for by the private sector the beneficiaries of taxpayer largess went on strike.
TRAX International issued a news release saying it submitted a proposed three-year bargaining agreement to the union on March 27. Some of the terms included yearly raises of 2.5 percent; an increase in yearly sick leave from 53 to 80 hours; continued health, vision and dental coverage with 80 percent of premiums paid by the company; and a yearly subsidy of $1,000 to help employees with their share of the insurance premium.
The proposed package was considered "substandard" by union members, Jaramillo said.
"It was almost like they were taunting us," he said.
There are your tax dollars at work paying the unionists to obstruct national defense because they are unhappy with the well feathered nest supplied by the taxpayer. They should all be fired and have their security clearances stripped for life. The Army needs to run the army, not a bunch of whining sniveling complainers bitching and complaining instead of taking the job of national defense seriously.

I hate unions.
Get rid of all of these parasites. You want a job, you work hard, you do your job, you make a wage...
I have been told that White sands is in a recession on projects, so let them strike and enjoy those weak union perks while on strike.

Carpenters gettin paid $25 hr WITH benefits like a pension plan, some of the best health insurance out there, 4 wks of time off to START!!!.. and $1000+ bonuses a year....Not bad livin for a HS diploma.
They get time and half and doubel time for workin the weekend, comin in early, tool allowances., etc. Heck, they were bragging gettin 4% raises a yr - Ooooh, the company is only gonna give 'em 2.5% a yr now..... Really put upon.... The rest of us out here don;t get that... That not substandard in any way.
Maybe the company will fire all those parasites and hire a few of us....

Hopefully you aren't looking for any type of job that requires adequate spelling and grammar.

It would seem that what they need are some people that aren't communist thugs looking to suck some more perks off the taxpayer by harming defense programs with the frequent and petty strikes and threats. The best thing Ronald Reagan ever did was determine the PATCO strike harmful to the country and fired every damned one of the striking clowns banning them from ever being rehired.
Our national defense is imperiled by these union thugs trying to hold it for ransom. I have no idea why the services discharge men coming home to hire a bunch of mutinous thugs threatening to strike every time their nest feathering adhesion comes up for renewal.

Most of you really need to educate yourselves on the history, and importance of Unions because," history repeats it's self". Right now we are once again in the era where Unions are a necessity, history is repeating itself again, making unreasonable demands, low wages and no real health care for working families in all sectors, which effects us all.

I think it would be more educational to google the union name combined with the terms wsmr, holloman and +strike to get an accurate view of the issues and the frequency of their threats to hobble facilities.
If you really want to get the flavor of these subversive mobs leave off the holloman and white sands and see how they strike over anything for any reason or just a contrived reason.
There is an idea. If Koch wants to bring about freedom how about indemnifying this company to allow them to fire these whiners and blackball them.
