This lady is saying that the responding officers were "overkill"? If someone was shooting near my house I would want to make sure that they were apprehended and not just one officer came to the scene...First this town b****es about the police not doing their job and then when the police do their job it is considered "overkill". Make your mind up! They are here to "serve and protect" and they were "serving and protecting" that night. Would you have liked to have gone chasing after a man that had previously shot at police without backup??? I sure as H*** wouldn't!!!

Clearly he shot at Roswell cops a couple of days earlier. Carlsbad cops did the right thing.

During my second tour in Iraq when I was a stud jarhead, myself and a couple of other Marines opened fire on an insurgent from about 15 ft. He took about 20 rounds to his chest, neck, and head.. I saw a whole lot of gore back in those days, but this one incident still has me a little rattled. The guys face was split up. We shot up his jaw and his eyeballs were popped out, he looked like a picasso painting..To this day I still have the image in my head, I'm still bothered by it..Its not easy to kill someone emotionally. Trust me its not. No matter how bad these people were especially if you have to see them and load them in the back of the Hummvee..Hope the Cops who shot this dude don't have images stuck in their head..Yes they did the right thing, but probably wished it could of turned out differently.. I don't think these cops were trigger happy at all, I think they were just being prudential.

Judging from the amount of time she spent talking to the paper, she's one of the rubberneckers, who was extremely pissed that she was instructed to get back inside her apartment. Going out to look for her dog...yeah, right....

Gee Lobo, you need to dump that baggage ASAP because it was business. I blew a crap load of VC/NVA away up close and personal and it never crossed my mind to regret or angst about it. Killing an innocent is cause for reflection. Killing the enemy is cause for celebration because you go home and they don't. What the hell kind of touchy-feely crap did you Hollywood boots learn anyway?
Killing was our business..and business was good.
Cops can angst all they care to..Marines do not.
Well maybe cause lobo has bit of a concious. You on the other hand are probably some mentally sick vet who has to get treated at the VA.

Yeah sure business was good for you huh? Business was also good for the VC/NVA too and the Wall in DC has the proof to show it, too bad your name's not on it loser.

Bet if you ever saw lobo face to face you wouldnt have the guts to say this to his face,
He'd beat the snot out of your old a&*. Atleast Iraqi war vets get better respect than vietnam, your probably just jealous. Don't worry Vietnam vets are the next generation to die off, you can take your stories of killing 4ft gooks to hell.

Although Ryan had a less than perfect past and had a reputation for violence, he was a good friend and a loving step-father. He had good qualities and we had fun times. We loved him and we will miss him.

You know its sad that something so tragic like this can make people laugh and make jokes!! yes ryan made bad choices, and wasn't perfect, but at the end of the day he was still a person! He is someones son, brother, and father!! I don't know how you can sit there and laugh about where he was shot. What if it was your brother, or son, or father?? I dont think it would be quite as funny! I happened to know ryan personally, and he was always a great guy! Yes, he made stupid choices, and yes the police did exactly what they needed to do. But I bet the police officers involved dont think this is a bit funny! I am very saddened of how heartless some people can be, to laugh over someones death, or to brag about how easy it is to shoot someone! My prayers are with the baker family, and all the officers invloved! It is a very sad and tragic situation!

OK first things first...if you were no there with Libstomper and know what he went through then you need to not voice ANYTHING about Vietnam. Those men and women went over there and did the things that NO ONE wanted to talk about. THey defended this country while the people of this country were over herebad mouthing them and cussing them when they came home. Yes there were alot of GOOD men and women on BOTH sides that never came home. But times as they were... our soldiers had to have the kill or be killed mentality or they were not coming home. Does that make them hard a$$ed. Yeah probably but we caould use a few more hard casees in this world right now and we would not be in the freakin shape we are in.

Less than perfect is not trying to kill cops, it is down right worthless!! Loving? Really? If he was so loving, then why was he not caring towards cops? One good quality of his was that he was a bad shot! Oh and I imagine one of his so good qualities is he would hide the body huh?

At the end of his criminal day, yes, he was someone's son or whatever. I am sure the cops dont think it was funny because an officer got shot, but I can guarantee you, YES, they are making fun of him! Laughter is the best medicine and when they need to laugh, and it is probably something little, they will joke about it. I imagine all of you who are taking up for him are on the same path or will be because worthless people hang around worthless people. I can sit here and laugh because he is a worthless human..he shot at cops in Roswell and it could have been my cousin that got shot! He shot at cops here, who could have been my friends, he is dead, and that is GREAT! Now, if only MORE worthless people like him would be killed. I am very compassionate person, but when it is humans that do this kind of BS, the compassion is gone and there is no reason to have empathy to a person that I sure as hell would NOT put myself in!

Sorry 2ewo, I do not and I will NOT have compassion for this person! Life is a journey, not a destination and here on earth, if I judge, then I judge and I do judge. We all do it! Like I have asked, if you had a child at home, and it is your job to keep that child safe, would you allow a child rapist, or a serial killer to live with you and you take a HUGE chance on your child being killed? Well I do not understand what made this guy think he was above all so therefore, no compassion! If we are not to judge then why is there a prison system and a jury? You or whomever can say this and that, I do not care, NOONE will change my opinion or my feelings! He was worthless! I am just glad he is gone!

Really? Well I just laugh at you because your comment makes no sense. Why should I have compassion for a person who could have killed my cousin? Why should I have compassion for shooting at a cop who knows my family who are in law enforcement? Why? As for Karma, I am not worried. Why? Because no matter what a person does good or bad there is ALWAYS a consequence and this think about Karma is BS...it is called life. The way a person conducts their life is what that person deserves bad or good. So, you calling me worthless does not mean anything and this Karma, is right back at you for you having a worthless friend. Yeah, he was a human, just a worthless one who he decided to be.
