“If you really want to make the case that an eruption caused an extinction, you have to be able to show at the highest possible precision that the eruption of the basalt and the extinction occurred at exactly the same time,” Bowring says.

In the case of the end-Triassic, Bowring says researchers have dated volcanic activity to right around the time fossils disappear from the geologic record, providing evidence that CAMP may have triggered the extinction. But these estimates have a
"margin of error"
of 1 million to 2 million years.“A million years is forever when you’re trying to make that link,” Bowring says.
While the team’s evidence is the strongest thus far to link volcanic activity with the end-Triassic extinction, Bowring says
"more work"
can be done.
They really really don't know.

Correction: They know with a better level of certainty than before, but with less certainty than we should have after additional study.

That's how science works; theories aren't proven; they're supported by the evidence to varying degrees. Anti-science, black-and-white thinking know-nothings pose a false dichotomy between metaphysical certitude (a logical impossibility) and total ignorance. This logical fallacy is often employed by science deniers in a dishonest attempt to discredit any scientific conclusion that their dogmatic beliefs or selfish interests compel them to attack.

It's also used occasionally by irrational rubes who are dumb enough to accept the validity of, and then mindlessly repeat, such transparent logical fallacies.

The mass extinction may not really be caused by an asteroid. That's just opinion, PennyHotDick.

You have no quality or argument. Good to see they allow you out for the weekend. Do tell your care givers that the meds your own need to be increased. You’re somewhat agitated this weekend posting useless babble.

It took me much too long to realize that PHD has the sort of problems that would, in a face-to-face situation, surely result in disengagement. It's cruel to continue and further engagement can't possibly further discredit the denier position. Let it go.

To date you haven't explained how you engineered the Auto Ind. into bankruptcy. To date you haven't posted your peer reviewed published work. I'm sure you will post more semantic gymnastics to worm your way out of an answer.
