TEANECK - In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut, a coalition of North Jersey residents is beginning to petition their local councils to adopt resolutions affirming their support for federal and state measures to reduce gun violence.

This in my opinion is great news and long overdue. We need not wait for a tragedy to occur before we reevaluate our regulations.

So the over 20,000 Federal, State, County, Municipal, and City firearms laws already on the books aren't enough? At what point do you realize that criminals don't obey laws?
