Saw an outbreak of gypsy moths in the 80's in New York. The Bethpage Black Course, which has hosted the US Golf Open was devastated. There were almost no leaves on the trees at all. It's great they have a spray that isn't toxic to humans. I hope that includes birds and fish. I believe they used either malathion or Sevin (which is very toxic) to control the moths in the 80s. Two consecutive years of gypsy moth devastation can lead to the trees dying. Glad they're doing something about it. Those suckers eat everything!
