I get it..if you are following the law, you supposedly won't get a ticket.

What bugs me is the constant reference to safety as the only reason they are up there. Didn't Clive add to their FD/EMS in anticipation of the extra revenue when the lights first went up? If it is only for safety are the number of tickets dropping, which would mean drivers are waking up to the importance of not running lights? Maybe by improving safety they meant they would be able to add employees to FD/EMS/PD.

It didn't matter that there was a "safety camera"...I was sitting at the stop light when a man plowed into the back of me going 50 mph :( Luckily I walked away.
If drivers just paid attention to their driving we wouldn't have any problems.
Let's teach the city of Clive a lesson- pay attention to your driving, obey the laws, and no tickets will be issued. Therefore, they won't be making money. THEN it will be all about our "safety"...
BTW it would be great if the camera's actually picked up film of accidents too.

Let me are "special" and you would never ever cause an accident. So the city because you chose to drive like an idiot should be at the intersection so when you plow into a car because you ran a red light, they are right there to pick up the dead bodies?
So if you have children, lets say one of them is driving age and they don't run a red light but someone else does and your child is killed because the other driver is like you? Then that driver denies any wrong doing cause that light was pink, but your child is still dead? And the insurance company if the other driver actually has insurance denies liability saying your "youthful" driver is at fault and you are stuck with the bill, what then?
You don't get it, it's people like you that make the roads unsafe cause in your mind any rules of the road are just suggestions and they don't apply to you due to your being "special."
If this was about safty they should put a cop at the corner. I don't mind stupid people getting a ticket for what they do. But come on, this isn't about safty it's about money.
