Nicole Rogers and Glory Rhodes will officially release what is being called the hottest book of the summer, Kim Mathers: Beyond the Lyrics, today.
Rogers and Rhodes share their investigative views and opinions on the life of Kim Mathers. They hope this book will shed light and truth on the often stormy and destructive relationship Kim had with Detroit rapper Eminem, and allow people to see a side of Kim that has never been seen before, inviting you to meet the real Kim Mathers; the wife, mother, lover and caregiver.
Rogers and Rhodes merely wanted to show that there are always two sides to every story, and wanted to be "the one person" who would see Kim for who she really is, as she had stated in an interview that she wished there was "one person" out there who would be able to see her for the person she really is. Her story is an important story of survival.
Kim Mathers has shown the world that she is human, she is a woman, she is a lover, she is a mother, she is a daughter, and she is a person who deserves to be treated with the same dignity afforded to every human being. She is strong, she is courageous, and we believe that Kim Mathers is truly a good person, who was taken advantage of by the man she loved and by his fans who promote abuse by backing up the man who may have loved her, but loved his music and fans more.
A journalist for the Detroit Examiner stated, "This is the best Kim Mathers/Eminem book on the market, today! This book shares a personal outlook of the life of Kim Mathers. This book discusses both Kim and Eminem's struggles with abuse, infidelities, addiction, suicide, freedom of speech and what the future holds, as well as interesting Kim Mathers facts. This is a book every Eminem and/or Kim Mathers fan will love!
"Sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak. When you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you. You gotta find that inner strength and pull that shit out of you and get that motivation to not give up and not be a quitter no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse."
"This is the intro to Detroit rapper Eminem's song, "Till I Collapse" featuring the late Nate Dogg off "The Eminem Show." But these are much, much more than just words or lyrics. Kim Mathers is forced to give herself this pep talk every morning while looking into her bathroom mirror, and there are some days she needs it more than others. She never really knows what each day will bring, how many tasks she will be forced to face alone or how many hoops she will have to jump through just to get through an average day. Every day is like a three ring circus for her, as she is forced to deal with the daily drama and aftermath of her ex-husband's public personification."
Whether you love or hate her, this is one book you will definately appreciate. Books are currently available at Lulu.com
