So I used to be faithful to shopping there cause there fuel bucks.... its seems lately they only hire in kids or retired people none of which know what there doing or are even the slightest bit friendly... I would shop there just to get the fuel bucks it was great when it started but I would earn 6 fillups and within a week they would be gone what's the point in shopping just for fuel bucks if theydont give u time to use them...and at that when u do have them the gas pumps don't work so u can't use what u earned anyways.... the older lady that works the gas n go has got to be the rudest lady I have ever met... I have completely quit shopping there I got a Sam's membership its 40 but u will save that ur 1st visit there name brand food is as cheap and some cheaper than food city's store brand withexception of cokes.... only offer name brand there and it is a lil more but still cheaper than food city price on coke brand products... and u can go across parking lot to Walmart and get their grand cokes for same as fc cokes....makes me mad I have to drive to Knoxville to get a god deal on food and customer service!!!! Anyone else had any bad experiences?

Yes be very careful when getting gas there. I wanted 35 in gas payed first then pumped the pump shut off at 29 dollars. If I had been in a hurry or not paid attention I'd been out 6 bucks. Any way went to the lady and was like the pump shut off with out giving me what I paid you for she was like that's because with your fuel bucks you've earned ? Don't remember what it was off a gallon but came to six bucks total saved so instead of giving me more gas for the 35 bucks it ripped me off. She was like you want the six bucks or me to turn the pump back on o want the gas I paid you for. Long storie I know hard to explain so just make shore you get what you pay for I would have drove off with out my six bucks and never know I did. So just be careful at that gas station

The way the pumps work at FC for fuel bucks is that you get change back to account for the 15% discount. It's really the only way to do it. If the discount came in extra gas at the pump a person who, say, bought $35 worth of gas would in reality be owed $41 in gas. They might just pump to $35 and drive off. Or they may not take in to account the extra gas and overfill their tank.

a lot of the teens won't talk to the customers or anything. call/write the ceo & tell him how u feel bout the place & that u have stopped shopping there for this reason we want to take care of yall but here lately Sam don't seem to care. As for the gas bucks don't pre-pay cause it will cut it off after so much either slide ur card or pay after that way u can get ur whole fill up

That's funny, haven't had a problem there or at the one on Clinton Highway. I noticed that the prices on their groceries are much lower than Wal-mart's for the time being. I use the gas bucks and it automatically lowers the price per gallon at the pump when I run my Food City card. For example, the pump may say $3.50 per gallon. When I run my card according to the instructions, the price drops on the pump according to how many bucks I have available, usually at least 10 cents. The display then shows $3.40 If you are having trouble maybe you are mistaken on how many fuel bucks you have available?
Anyway, it kind of sucks that I have to drive to Food city for groceries then to Sams or Wal-mart for personal items. But I save a ton of money that way.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Next time prepay then pump. give them your foodcity card to scan and watch and see what happens.(only do it if you have fuel bucks saved up.) then come back run your mouth like your smart. Nobody said it don't give you the discount the problem is when you prepay it didn't do the discount ant register ok thus is what it dose say you want 15 gallons of gas and that's going to be 35.00 so you pay 35.00 but you got fuel bucks and they total up to .45 off a gallon so instead of at the register you get your discount it has you pay the 35.00 and the pump shuts off at 28.25 the discounted price for 15 gallons you get your 15 gallons for 28.25 but you done paid the 35.00 so you have to go back and tell the attendant you didn't get the 35.00 you paid for your still owed 6.75 in gas so you eather pump that in or get that back cash the whole problem here is if you dont realize the pump shouts off at the discounted price then you lose in the long run. Ya you get the gallons you paid for but your losing the deal if you don't get your money back or the extra gas I know this is hard to understand so just go prepay and you'll see what I'm trying to say. Have fuel bucks saved up when you do it.

Food city sucks in general. They wasted my damn time& gas with an interview and even made me cry afterwards. Haha but I'm not the only one he made cry.Sams a dick & so is that Ashley Ashworth who sits next to him the whole time. All she does is awkwardly stare. He wouldn't let you get a word in edgewise. This guy thinks that he's better and I hope one day he willl have to take a walk in my shoes...where he has nothing & realize I was just trying to get a damn job for my family. I can't even explain what to you all was said in that interview...all I know is Sams a cocksucker and I hope he gets a taste of his own medicine one of these days!!

Sorry for your experience. Unfortunatley, people kick you while you're down. At times, it seems, it only gets worse. You try to do everything right and it doesn't pay, while the sorry crooks, whether a man in charge of food city or a congressman, follow NO rules, and they don't struggle. There is still a slavery system in place. Its called Minimum Wage. Wal-mart, crap quality, news stores, Owners make Forbes lists, while employess have to have tenncare and foodstamps.

I agree they do have cheap food if u buy value time or food club brand but at Sam's u can get the name brand for cheaper than store brand I took my grocery bill from 850 to 530 but I have a big family I was spending 220 a week in food and I fill my car up once surely after 220 in store brand food I should have atleaat one fill up and normally ill get 2 to 3 but by Friday they are gone I have bought my food and then turned around and got something else maybe a drink and I had to ring it up seperate but right after the first one that said I had 3 fill up .45 off not even 5 min later I hadn't even walked out the door and all the fuel bucks were already gone... it was ridiculous!!! When u shop there just for the gas and they take them away after u had spent 240 then what's the point...

After Ike in 2008. When gas skyrocketed in and hour. The Haslams' Pilot Oil, Joe Hollingsworths' Git-N-Go and the Rocky Top Markets were busted.

From an April 2009 TN Attorney General press release. "Attorney General Bob Cooper filed settlements today with 16 companies and individuals who own 27 gas stations in Middle and East Tennessee over allegations of price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Ike. The companies and gas stations who settled with the Attorney General are: Rocky Top Markets, for eight stations in East Tennessee; Pilot Corp. and Pilot Travel Centers, for three stations in Knoxville and one in Powell; Git ‘n Go, Inc., for two stations in Clinton; Chally Wally (Winchester); Shady Valley Country Store (Shady Valley); Caryville Amoco BP (Caryville); Stop ‘n Go Market (Morristown); Burnett’s Fuel Center (Allardt); Lovell Shell (Knoxville); Adams’ Lakeside Market (Estill Springs); Big D’s Shell (Clinton); Seven Star Stop (Johnson City); Fun Foods (Harriman); Rock Hill Grocery (Rogersville); Lacy’s Market (Mt. Juliet) and Speedy Market (Winchester)."

Hummm, that's funny, I followed the instructions they gave me. Says to run your Food City card, then pump your gas. Yeah I'll run my mouth like I'm smart because I am. Though it seems to me a lot of people that aren't smart can follow simple instructions. I guess you are NOT one of those people.

I remember that. I was one of the many that reported it online. They have always had the most expensive gas in town.
