Way to get you some business "steve" I used to sell cars on one of the more prominate lots on clinton highway. STAY AWAY from Jd BYrYDEr or that drive time. They are ripoffs. Anyone who says their selling the program is a ripoff. Any car you get no matter what it is is either 10,999 or 12,999 and the car is usually only worth 5000. I can't count how many of those came on the lot wanting to trade and were so burried in a piece of garbage it was sad. Also Car Credit on clinton highway buys cars wholesale from the used lots that the other lots wouldn't put on their lot. I know I used to sell them to them, them and mannis motors. If another used car lot wouldn't sell them you know they have to be pretty bad. Any of them will take advantage of you because your credit is in the tank. But you have to take the lesser of the evils. The ones that I would recomend would be one of the clayton lots, they SMOKE you on interest but that's to be expected. But the cars are usually pretty decent once in a while you get a bad one like any car but more often than not they will repair it for you and just add it to your balance. Labor and parts are generally in line with any other shop, they are pretty fair. Parkers isn't too bad either just more of the same ole but a little better.

its a 2001 with 90,000 miles on it, asking price was 5500 after financing i awe 6800, so the financing charge was 1800, not sure what the percentage was. but oviously if i pay it off early it will be cheaper on me.

not bad at all man. Sometime you got to watch them $500 down. I had a 2002 z71 and was going to trade it in on a charger at a car lot and the guy said your alittle bit up side down on your truck. Then he said dont worry about the payments we can work it out to get you cheap payments. I was like i am not paying on a used car for 5 years. for the ones that have not bought cars on your own just watch out for them saying they can get anyone a car. cause if your willing to pay 22% interest on something then yes they can work out a loan for you. And Stay away from the buy here pay here lots

All car lots are playing games. Doesn't matter if they are second hand mom and pop or not. When you buy from a big name lot, at least they have the option to buy new. If you are going to pay payments then you might as well take the plunge unless you know a lot about cars and can pick a good used one.

Those second hand lots all sell crappy cars. Your best bet is to get a loan and buy from a private seller.

The buy here pay here market is like anything else out there. Some good ones, some bad ones, some in the middle. As banks are less and less likely to lend money to most people, this is a good option for many people to get a better car or just a car!
There is a great site that helps people in our area with buy here pay here. You can check them out at http://www.thecarmancan.com and they have a list of BHPH dealers at http://www.thecarmancan.com/buyherepayheredea...

They have videos, tips, advice and a locater service for your needs.... it's all free so worth a shot.

Look for a buy here pay here lot that doesn't do credit checks. The interest rates will be ridiculous, and if you are ever late, they'll repo the car and keep your money but they will sell you a car. You'll probably need at least a grand down.

Have mainly only dealt with Bel-Air motors on Oliver Springs, gets nice dependable vehicles and low payments. Tell them Sack girl sent ya.

Do not go to a Clayton lot. I had my car for 6 months, never late with $300 monthly payment, and motor locked up. I have to have it pulled to their garage and pay a percentage of cost of repairs before picking back up. They finance the rest but payments will go up. I've had nothing but trouble out of the car since I got it. Every time I fixed one thing on the car something else tore up. P&C Auto will rip u off and owned by Claytons.

Also, I paid $1600.00 down on the car. 2007 Suzuki Forenza.

1800 on 5500 would be about 30% which is a really bad deal. That's higher percentage than most title loan places!

Actually, in my experience they are must less likely to loan on a used car, especially from a second hand lot than a new one. It's better business to finance a car they know will hold some value rather than take a chance on something that usually has several owners or that has a hidden past. Second had lots like to sell a lot of cars that have been through shady stuff. I know this because I had friends that ran a few of those types of lots. Any buy here pay here is buying junk as low as possible and marking it up as high as possible! You will end up upside down in any used vehicle unless you get it under blue book.
