Mitch is a f*#k!ng idiot. 1) He is not a tyrant like he claims. 2) Leading by fear and intimidation may work for a short while but you will program people to do things to keep from getting in trouble instead of taking pride in their work. Leadership is about getting a group of people working towards a common goal to make things better for themselves and the organization. It is about fairness and accountability. Set the expectation and hold everyone accountable and people will do the things you ask them. Most of the time the expectation is not communicated properly or it's different for different people. This is a big reason people are unhappy with their jobs as it breeds animosity between employees which leads to a lack of teamwork. I believe EBM is making strides since they started shipping from the warehouse and freeing up some floor space. It's still a long way off but it's better than it was a few months ago.

Nice post khi. You should be in mgmt. What does everyone think about some of the other supervisors at ebm? Good, bad? Just wanna know if others feel the same I do. I think some are doing a nice job(curtis lane, mike johnson) and some (mitch, kevin hanna) aren't.

I think some of the management is doing their job but I believe some are the reason Ebm is failing. I think gale Jacobs and Wade w. Are so focused on self preservation and doing what looks good on paper they don't see the forest through the trees. I think Doug b. And Mike j. Truly care about doing their jobs. Everyone seems to care when company is in house but other than that gale and Wade don't add value to the company.

Doug does seem to be doing a good job. All of them guys on 3rd shift must be doing something right because whenever I get there in the mornings everything is cleaned out and pretty well organized. We are staying ahead on a lot of our processes now and finally getting a day off from time to time. Who is the guy in shipping on 3rd shift? I heard he is pretty good and getting things done. Doug and Curtis seem to like him.

Sounds like to me someone is trying suck up to Doug, Curtis and Mike J. And hidy ho i dont know what department you work in but when i get there in there mornings its a wreck, empty containers all over the place, stuff out in the isle ways, processes not stocked, garbage over flowing, scrap hoppers not emptied. Day shift are the ones that clean everything up and makes the place look good.

As far as Mitch goes, i dont really think this person calling them self "Mitch" in here is the real Mitch. I worked for Mitch and no matter how much he tried to push is little weight around with the employees he DID NOT intimidate me because I let him know right from the start that wasn't going to happen. And when he saw it wasn't happening, his attitude changed real fast toward me. I guess the nickname the employees had for him in Iowa was all wrong.

You must be in management! It's always the people. The people don't change how things are done or perceived. That would be the leaders on the floor and in the office. When there is a legitimate complaint it is only looked at as complaining. You're not a team player if you point out what's wrong and then they suspend people for being negative.

Dont work their anymore. And I think this is still a place in the world where I can say what I want. This aint Canda. I still have lots of friends down their and I loved my time their but it is not the same now. How many people their still speak english?
