I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand

The angry boy, a bit too insane
Icing over a secret pain
You know you don't belong

You're the first to fight
You're way too loud
You're the flash of light on a burial shroud
I know something's wrong

Well, everyone I know has got a reason
To say put the past away

Wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand

And well, he's on the table
And he's gone to code
And I do not think anyone knows
What they are doing here

And your friends have left you
You've been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this
And I, I want you to know

Everyone's got to face down the demons
Maybe today we can put the past away

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies
That you've been living in and if you do not want to see me again
I would understand, I would understand, I would understand

I would understand
I would understand
Understand

Can you put the past away?
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
I would understand

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
And I would understand

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
And I would understand

Oh come on, the gay community in clinton has known about sexy rexy for years. He used to hang out with us in the public restrooms across from the old Hammers and he used to meet up for dates at BJ Park.

Let me tell you that man can suck.

you know , rex had to know that if he kept on doin what he was doin someone would get him . mainly God ! i know nothing about him bein gay , but that is as far as i would let the verbal abuse go . is there nothing in our lives that we would not want known to the public , i know their is in mine . when we keep badgering someone like this it will not be long before God brings out some of our dirty laundry for everyone to see ! if you are a christian , you should pray for him and his family they are going to need it and not post alot of this stuff . i know its alot more fun doing this , because , let me tell you something brother , i am nothing more than a sinner saved by the grace of God ! there is a lot of things in my life that i have done that only God knows about , and , if that is alright with Him , i am going to keep it that way . so lets try to be different than the rest of the world and be a stick together community . Lord let us come in love and go in peace .

Rex is just like everyone else at Second Baptist. He's only sorry and thinks of God when caught. There's a reason they built Second Baptist by the jail. All the crooks that have been caught meet at the jail. The crooks, adulterers, and drugies that haven't been caught yet (and some that have) meet at Second Baptist.

Everyone is saying how they are praying for him and his family but where was God in his life while he cheated and lied to the taxpayers of this county? Typical Republican. He only uses God at election time.

Rex admitted he did it in his resignation letter. Did all of you miss that?

I don't understand attacking a church over actions of one member. It shows a lack of class in my opinion. People post on here disgusting and filthy things. Your comments and spewed venom are no better than the wrongdoing you feel that Mr. Lynch has done. May God help us all.

Well, I think they may be attacking Second Baptist Church because it has really went down since they ran Gary Swaggerty off. The current pastor only preaches about giving more money to the church and food. Membership is down and they need money to pay the loans for the new church and the new additions. Then you have all of the "fake" christians running around pretending to be perfect. If people would just be their genuine selves it would be better for everyone.

Second Baptist needs to get back on track and get right with God or it will fail.

It is easy to blame a church for someone's actions. I felt that Second Baptist was a big church and a place for the notables to be seen. I refused to go there for many years because I had this notion.

However; life dealt me a challenging card and I was invited to second baptist by a close friend. I attended every Sunday for 4 months before I chose to join the church. You see; I was letting others dictate how I felt about my relationship with God instead of letting my own thoughts govern how I felt. I love what second baptist does for the younger crowd and it does cost a significant amount of money. I am not rich. However; I give to my church in hopes that I can help a young child from our community overcome the many obstacles in front of them to live the life they want to live.

Yes, the church is big and audacious in some ways. However; it reaches out to so many of our youth to give them hope and guidance.

It is not perfect as most churches are not. However; most of the active members put their faith, soul, and love in to spreading God's love to so many distressed people and families in our community.

It is easy to judge something. Especially a church by what you see on the outside. Sure; there are certain people that attend to advertise their own agendas. However; I never found God for myself until I put all of those distractions aside and opened my heart to pledging my FAITH for his word.

I do believe in cleansing our community of bad politicians, employees, etc. That starts at the election polls and not by attacking the entities that embrace them with trust.

It is good to comment and to express your opinions. Good or bad... However; take the time to give yourself the opportunity to find your own faith if you shall desire and never let the actions of others deter you!

Keep up the conversation, discussion, bitching, etc. But, you owe yourself the chance to worship freely and in disregard of what others have done or what other members attest to....

Respectfully,
TK

I think this was a very well worded post. I think I have learned a valuable lesson in all of this. Our actions and deeds as Christians affect many things. People are watching. Some that may not believe in Christ. Our leaders have to be above reproach. The mentality "Everyone has done it" does not wash in this situation. Sometimes you have to suffer the consequences in life. If indeed Mr. Lynch is guilty of these charges, I will have more respect if he pleads guilty. His decision on this could be a powerful testimony on his part and to the community. Even if the outcome is painful, it can be overcome. We all sin and come short of the Glory of God. I will continue to pray for him, his family and Second Baptist Church.

Turk,
You believe in "cleansing our community of bad politicians, employees, etc." Yet you attend and are a member of the church where they all gather.
Rex is not the only elected official attending Second Baptist that could be charged with
"official misconduct". Some of them are approving budgets that put money into their personal businesses or choose insurance providers that benifit them.
Maybe they can share a cell.

I don't support anything he has done wrong. But do you think about his children and the rest of his family possibly reading this some day. Come on guys. We wouldn't want to
be a child or even an adult who has to read gay comments about their daddy. Whether true or not...the words could hurt more than the man. Furthermore, if you can't gonto a church because they have elected officials there who are crooked... Does this mean we can't go to a Theater to watch a movie if they are there or a park where them and their children play.. Or a ballgame cause their kids play on the same team or the same school?? Come on. If tour going to church it's to worship God and be taught...not to worry about who sits across from us. He will anwser for his actions to God. There are sinners in every church. God wants the sinners there in hopes they will change and we are to love them and welcome them. Don't have to approve but we can choose bot to judge them. Just my opinion while I was reading topix I read this thread. I don't know the man or the church personally. Just sayin. Think about the INNOCENT YOU MIGHT HURT While talking about the GUILTy.... Thanks. Good nite
