Enough is enough, leave these people alone. 800,000 pages of investigations, how much did that cost???? The government is prosecuting these people for stealing 16 million. who is going to prosecute the government lawyers for stealing 50 million of our tax payers monies. Hypocricy always prevails in this culture. What a shame....

Maybe if it was you, or one of your elderly parents that were stolen from,($1000's and $1000's) so that Willen and company could live it up, you'd feel differently. Why don't we just let all the criminals out, but let's make sure they get dropped off in your neighborhood to live and they can steal from you, because you don't believe in prosecuting. It's a shame that your empathy is with the wrong dsfendants and not the victims.

I strongly disagree with you, Enough. Evergreen's effect on our community has been profound--and on many levels, not the least of which is that Evergreen is accused of specifically targeted some of the most vulnerable people living in our midst, i.e. the poor, the elderly, and people of color. I want everyone who has been indicted to get a fair trial and the benefit of due process; however, I still want to see all of them prosecuted.

Are YOU for real with that post?!? Do you actually realize what this man has done to many hard working people?? I think you need to really investigate the ramifications of what this man had done. I'm fairly certain you'll change your tune. You do the crime, you do the time. PERIOD.

Do you have any idea what the 800,000 pages entailed? These were the documents confiscated from Evergreen. They are the actual business files concerning the mortgages and sales of homes. When the Summit County Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement agencies raided the company they used a larger Ryder truck to haul everything away. The items included computers, main server, paper files and filing cabinets.
For the number of years that Evergreen was in business, it is surprising that the number of documents seized was not larger.

There are also people who suffered behind this ordeal also. Some of the employees who worked there had no idea this was going on til they were layed off or fired & it hit the papers. Most of them was glad to see this happen because their career was thrown in the wind because the owner decided to be greedy & corrupted.Jobs are not easy to come by & most of the employees who worked there are struggling behind this ordeal financially. It hurts your resume to show they worked for this company & they did not do anything but their jobs.90% of the employees working there had no clue but they are suffering behind it.

Unbelievable - You are exactly right. Prospective employers look at these people as being "Guilty By Association" no matter what their knowledge or involvement was. According to the Summit County Court website, Dave Willan's trial can be videotaped, photographed, etc by The Beacon Journal and WKSU so far. The judge has already authorized it.

All they were doing was the jobs that they were trained for in the first place. Now those people who have lost their jobs have another hand of cards thrown at them~ explain to new employers why they should hire them over someone that has no media or criminal record.

Wonder if andy's ever going to get indicted, it was her company that benefitted from all the transactions paying big money to close, and she didn't know what was going on.....yeh...right...come on now....shes running the court system over there, maybe she don't know what's going on over there either.....

Been to a gathering or two with some of these folks who not only knew what they were doing but also knew it was pretty much illegal and thought it was awesome that they were getting away with it all. They just assumed they'd get away with it forever, then Willan got stupid and started the investment group and got himself exposed. I knew this guy was crooked the first time I met him while he was still going to Akron U and he'd just started scheming. Glad I had sense enough to steer clear of his schemes. Shame most people where too blinded by the big money Dave promised, then got burned.

I concur with Natural Selection, most of this crew knew what was going on. I love how in hindsight everyone now claims "they had no clue" where all that money was coming from.
Enough, what are you smoking? You must have been on the gravy train with the guy now in shackles. 800,000 is simply not enough. Quit snorting the Ortho.

What about his wife? She had something to do with all of this. Why isn't she up on charges? She was right along side of him fooling these people out of their money. Maybe she can tell David how she got out of it.

consider this wrote: what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?! half of you probably don't even understand the charges. basically they are saying he charged too much for his homes but how is that any different than channel charging too much for their bags or what about car dealerships? and as for these 800,000 of pages of "evidence"..funny how they supposedly have so much evidence but Brian Williams asked for discovery 30 days ago and was required to be in within 21 days which he still hasn't received. All you "know it alls" who think you know DAVE personally its clear you don't or else you wouldn't be calling him DAVID! and you say theres so many victims? not one has spoke up on any of these posts yet...interesting. Did you even read any of the previous articles on this? He's not only up for overpricing houses... He's up for selling securities illegally. I'd think someone in Michigan who knows him personally enough to know he goes by Dave would know this. Anyway, he's already been sued for and found guilty a few years ago of embezzling from his previous failed company. Taking the funds from a single large source investor as income draws against the company by signing both names to the checks when they required both partners names on them. Many of those funds were diverted into what became this company so that he could dissolve the previous one and edge out his partner at the time. Most of these people where in the mix back then, and when the new company came about were all over jumping into this scheme with full knowledge of its intentions.

Hey Consider, and everyone else.
Dave is called by close "friends" as Dave. He's called David by those that aren't that close to him and by his family, although they seemed close. I mean, having lunch every Friday at Rockne's with the parents is cool. When your older sister that went to a highbrow school has her hubby talk to you about the marketing scheme because he does national advertising and does it for free, I think that shows they're close.
Dave often liked to be called by the nickname "Furley", as in the three's company Furley. So much so that it was a password to his internet accounts for porn for years. It's also funny that he used to call the payments from tenants that weer on Section 8 his "Welfare" payments from the city.
As for the victims, there are quite a few. Those that lost money to Evergreen Investments unsecured subordinate investment notes sold using an old prospectus. Did you know he modeled that company after the Fair Finance company? Did you know that when he got into Portage Country club it was after meeting the owner of Fair Finance and knowing more about him then anyone, thereby impressing him and getting his vote to be the youngest inductee to the members? Funny that Mr. Fair then had to have words with him about trying to take over the ad space in the ABJ just before the obits.
What about Dave's cheating on his wife? Wow, not married three months and already picking up a random woman at Rockne's on Merriman and screwing her in the office while the wife is away. That's class.
Hold on, I don't know Dave. I don't know that he got his pilots license in 2005 after putting it off for 9 years. I don't know that he used to love to take his girlfriends to the Red Tomatoe in Hudson.
Lotta people know a lot about Dave. They know about his DUI, that he once screwed his dad on mortgages long before this, that he gets of fon watching girls pee themselves, that he made his wife lose thirty pounds before he would give her the ring he so gallantly bought her.
Funny thing, when Dave screwed me, I thought it was my fault. Wasn't until I really saw how he treated people that I noticed he screws everyone and thinks he'll get away with it.
I didn't turn him in, I figured it would come in time. It has.

interesting that all the people that worked there are gulty and should have known better but all the people that bought "unsecured" bonds at 12% are victems. everyone should have known better. the beacon ran stories about how great this guy was. the "westherhead 100" gave him an award for fastest growing company in ohio. "INC" magazine was about to do a postive article on him right before the raid. but ya everyone who worked there "should" have known. He should burn but he should do it alone. Conner plead out so he will get his but all the people underneath who where feed a line of shit should go free. If his line of BS was good enough to fool people into giving him 16 million in unsecured investments then i have to assume it was good enough to fool those who worked for him. but hey go ahead and be a one way street.
