New Hartford School Crossing Guards

Anyone know what that elderly womens problem is who a crossing guard at new hartford school on oxford she use to work in the library at the junior high.

i thin ki almost hit that old broad the other day. she got in the middle of the road to stop traffic when the kids were still 50 feet from the sidewalk. the guy in front of me actually yelled at her about stopping traffic when we had the the green light. i started to laugh tho i thought it was funny but yeah shes a crossing guard and thinks shes a cop i guess lol. let her have her fun guys come on. leave her alone. shes like 85 years old.

don,t y'all have anyting better to do than pick on someone trying to keep our kids safe. i bet you'd be the first ones complaing if a kid got hit. everyone is in such a hurry to get where they are going and to busy yapping on their cell phones and not paying attention to the road and someone gets hit like that boy last year getting off the school bus. i never heard anymore on how hes doing or what happened to the person who hit him

right cuz the bus driver knew that car wasnt going to obey the state laws about stopping for a stopped school bus. wait maybe the bus driver should have used their super powers to make the car stop. typical of you people to want to blame everyone but who is really at fault. lets just name everybody so we can sue and get awarded more money

The woman you are talking about is a bus driver's wife first of all. Second of all the kid who got hit last year is coming along (with injuries that will last a lifetime). The bus driver was not at fault....it was a doctor's son who blew through the bus driver's red lights and bus's stop sign. The 16 year old driver is living life just fine; participating in sports, photographer for the school paper, etc. Just living life to it's fullest. Meanwhile, kid hit can not participate in sports, can not see properly, etc. His family is struggling financially because any settlement (if there is any) will be years to come. Mom had to quit her job to take care of him. Only tickets issued for kid who hit him, due to no criminal intent. Sad for all involved, however the one who caused the tragedy doesn't appear to be suffering one bit. If it were me, I would be devasted and wouldn't be able to show my face in the school newspaper and be running around playing lacrosse. Unfortunately, I have a young driver in my household and am scared to death that the same thing could happen to him. Kids just don't think.

yea well i have seen how these New Hartford bus driver drive speeding, running traffic lights. I have even seen these people put their stop signs out at the last second with no yellow lights to warn drivers and then they lay on their horns and give dirty looks to the drivers I have even seen some bus drivers not put out their stop signs when kids are crossing. You know if the new hartford police would do their jobs and run radar on weston road and put a stop sign detail on weston and chapman they would make lots of $$$ by stoping all the speeding buses and buses that fail to comply with traffic rules . But i guess New Hartford bus drivers do not have to abide by traffic laws.

I was riding my 10 speed bike on Oxford Rd one morning while the kids were going to school. As there were no kids crossing and no cars at all at the red light, ( a once in a lifetime occurrence), I slowly biked thru a red light,. The crossing guards ( the lady and a man also) both yelled at me for breaking DMV regs. Good thing I did not have a license; they would have taken it down. Funny thing is, no one was around and she was in the middle of the road. lol

You are completely wrong about the bus driver bearing any responsibility.Every rule in the book was followed by the driver.These are the facts--the fault lies with the kid who was driving the car--period!
