Recumbent bicyclist hit from behind on Trace; investigation ongoing
The injury of a recumbent bicyclist Saturday on the Natchez Trace Parkway, hit by a driver who told rangers she never saw him, drives home the need for motorists and cyclists alike to watch for those who share the road with them, officials and bicycling enthusiasts say.

I try to be very alert when driving, I watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, other motorists, traffic hazards, etc. However, I have noticed while coming up from behind a recumbent bike recently, that they don't profile and register to a motorist the same as another person on a bike because of their lower profile. You can say to motorists be more alert, but the fact is that if you're less likely to be seen, you need to quit thinking of entitlement and start thinking about making yourself more visible.
