Barbara Payton is a joke. She is such a terrible principle and I'm suprised no one has started a thread stating that yet.

How about you just suck it up? Learn how to spell too. You are worthless.

It's principal. Principle is a whole other word with a totally different meaning.

That isn't a spelling error, that is a word misusage. There is nothing spelled wrong in that sentence. Please know what you are talking about before you correct someone. Instead of saying "learn how to spell" say "learn how to use words right" lol

Not sure it's just a principal issue. I think the problems at SV are due to poor superintendent and board leadership.

My child is currently in elementary school. I worry about what's going to happen when she goes to Middle School and High School at SV. IF there are the same problems I have seen family members have with the Middle School and High School, I will send my daughter somewhere else. From what I understand, this principal is more worried about what the kids are wearing rather than what they are learning. All of the schools in the SV district passed ISTEP testing last year EXCEPT for the High School. Makes me nervous because that's a very critical time for them to learn skills they will need in adulthood.

Principal is doing what she is told to do by the superintendent and board.

Wow... I noticed some post have been deleted regarding an outstanding teacher that was let go / retired. Why would you have positive feedback removed? Scared of the truth or ashamed of your actions?

I'm not a school teacher. I do, however, have nieces and nephews that attend the high school. This principal has failed numerous times to protect kids. Then, when someone stands up for someone, she punishes those that are standing up for others rather than the original tormentors. She believes that everything is gang-related and is totally clueless. She needs to quit worrying about what's on their bodies and worry more about what's going in their heads. She acts like she's a warden in a prison rather than an educator in a high school.

I'm not saying that she doesn't need to worry about what they wear, I'm saying that shouldn't be her ONLY priority. Her main priority should be educating and she's failing at that. Those kids had the worst ISTEP scores in the district. That means most of them won't have a chance getting into a good college. That's my concern with my child. She's a straight A student now, but with the "education" that's going on at the high school, that may drop when she gets there. I am a VERY involved parent in my child's life and she shouldn't suffer because other people in this area just have kids to get more public assistance.

You ask too many questions. Ask her yourself if you want the details.
