I've been going to Benjamin's here in Clinton for some time now. Here lately the food quality has been dropping, but the price's keep rising. The wait staff like all places some are good and some are well not so good. Today I was in there and my wife and kids could hear the cooks yelling not so nice thing's about a customer that complained about there food being burnt like a hockey puck and the fries dripping in grease. My family and I have here lately experienced the poor quality in food. My brother in law got a Benjamin Burger today and Onion rings. The Burger was 6.99 with fries and he asked if he could substitute fries for onion rings. First the rings were brought with our food but there was no burger in sight, after 11 minutes he asked the waitress were his burger was she said it should be coming out an additonal 5 or so minutes went by and his burger arrived charbroiled on the heavy side. He asked if they could recook it and the waitress took this food back to kitchen were cook proceeded to grip and complain saying " what do people expect here its not like we are a 5 star cafe" and then complained more. We finished our food asked for a slice of Pie, turned that down pie is $4 per slice. Went to pay bill brother in laws meal was $6.99 this price was for burger and fries which he got no fries but got onion rings then they charged him $4.99 for the onion rings + 6.99 for the burger and got no fries and the onion rings there were 7 rings (thats like 0.71 cents per ring. Think were tired of the way the prices keep rising and the quality keeps dropping.

Hard to believe, because they have been out of pie for the last week and a half.

Wow,seriously? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. If you are that concerned about the prices and the quality being so low that you are breaking it down to .71 cents per onion ring go to save-a-lot and buy a bunch of food and cook it at home yourself. No wonder resturants don't make it in this town, all people here do is complain.

I can't disagree with this guy. I visited my mother an we went there for lunch. Price issue... I think was something that could have been addressed before you left. However the remarks from the cool staff should not have been heard by customers. Also the cool should take more pride in his job and not put out a product the he/she would not eat. Based on your post, it took in excess of 16 minutes for a burger. Did you really time this? If so... Get a life. But even more that 10 minutes is a bit long. Pie for $4? That's pretty normal for an eatery. You get 6 pieces per pie x $4 is $24 per pie. Probably has about $12 in it... Profit margin is consistent with the food industry, actually about a dollar cheaper. I will say the quality that I received was less than par and my waitress was less than enthusiastic. Seemed like she was more into checking her Facebook on her cellphone. But I did get a good amount of food for the price. Maybe next time you should try getting a well balanced healthy meal at McDonald's. you get what you pay for. If service is the issue, please make sure to speak with a manager before you leave.

Try the Benjamins in Rockville, it's much better. The one in Clinton seems to have a cook staff problem. They could also take out a couple of tables in the front so you don't have to knock elbows with the people at the next table.

agreed Rockvill much much better. ive only been to the one in Clinton once, but our waitress was rude, and the same thing i get at the rockville resterunt, sucked there. Well, and ive also herd that if you complain or you are a "redneck" they screw with your food. Dont no bout that, but i do no that Rockville has always been really good and staff is nice.

Well take it from me, This is a nice place to eat at for Clinton... kids I have been around a block or two in my day an have experienced food and restaurants all over his continent. Now I am not saying I am a guru in the fine art of taste testing but I do know a good meal when I have one. I recommend Benjamin's to everyone I know.
I do suggest that The female manager from Northern Indiana, tone her voice down... Love you but please soften up. I don't care and neither does anyone else what you did where you went who works next week or tonight. we have heard this all and you are in the back. I don't want to hurt your feelings... take it from me you are discussing operational issues better left said with an Inside voice.... Always in public use a tone not to wake the baby.

If you like to go out and eat frozen food, then this is your place! I'd rather stay home and eat a lean cuisine.

I hate to tell you about going out to eat then. Name a place that has homemade food. Can you name one where all of the food is homemade?

Mann's in Indianapolis on Holt Rd. Also try Sister's on Madison just south of downtown Indy. I know it's not Clinton, but it's out there. The ability to cool real fresh food is there. The willingness t spend the money to do it and execute it is not.
