I would just like to say that I am still shocked of the news of Jerry Bristow. He is such a kind man and such a loving father. I know that times must have been damn hard for him to make such an irresponsible descision.

I had worked with Jerry for almost 10 years. Jerry was a compassionate officer and when needed, was assertive. He affords the same right that we are all are entitled to,inocent until proven guilty. If he did what he was accused of I believe his long honorable career should be considered in sentencing. I have seen alot worse walk with restitution and probation. Surely the public humiliation should be considered, being non police barely get 2 lines.

You've got to be kidding, right ? Innocent UNTIL proven guilty or guilty, until proven in public. Lagrone wasn't afforded the same innocent until proven guilty premise as you suppose we give this ex police officer. Hell, almost all of Clintucky had him guilty and were giving him the death penalty BEFORE he even went to trial.

Innocent until proven guilty, my ass !

Jerry and Lagrone don't even come close to the same category. Look at the two crimes dip shit! Officer Bristow is a compassionate man who obviously was affected by the economy.

You know unfortunately small towns breed small minds which you are a perfect example of. So is it Clinton or Kentucky? Oh I see, when you get arrested, the first thing you ask for is your rights. But that's only right for some people. Boy do you have issues!!!! Read if you can the trial transcripts!! Innocent people don't take pleas. Other thing the Lagrone case. What about those kids.Victims. In your pea size mind there is no comparison to cases. Its called a victimless crime. And yes if you were sitting in the clink I would say that you would also be entitled to those rights. So I guess the question I ask is who's ball's are you holding on to as you so crudely put Genius

Naaaahh, Hoss. Never been arrested. Too damn bright for that. Innocent people have taken pleas. Also, some of the worst criminals out there are the ones that wear the badge and uniform. Just like some of the worst drug offenders out there are in the medical profession and happen to be doctors and nurses.

And for your "condition", I'd try xanax, paxil and a little less caffiene.

Peace

Oh,I see lets talk rapists, serial killers, pedophiles bank robbers,. Sorry for the institution of your arrest. Just trying to figure out your hostility toward Law Enforcement. And your rude gross comments. Maybe you should try some Prozac. I do recall the the Bloomington Officer accused of all those rapes and abuse of powers. And such a waste of taxpayers to keep locked up that long at our cost. Why would an innocent person take a plea. I recall a judge once saying in court that just because some people commit a crime does not always make them bad people they just made a mistake!!!!!!!!!! I'm not suggesting Jerry Not Pay for his mistake, just abuse of the uniform and badge. its called Official Misconduct, and the criminal charges for the theft. But just like Civilians there past is taken into consideration as to sentencing. Peace

Read again, X...never arrested means....nnneeeevvveerrrr arrrresssteddd. No hostility here, my friend. I just chose to see the world with my eyes wide open. Just because someone's in law enforcement neither makes them the best person in the world, nor the worst.
I've been to countries and lived in countries that...whatever you used to commit a crime was either cut off or you were put to death. They don't seem to have either the crime problem we have. Sure, you can argue different forms of governement and different social issues

Why is it when "certain people" use drugs, it's called "substance abuse" but, when others do the exact samething they're arrested, charged, convicted and it's called "justice" and "drug abuse" ?

Innocent people take pleas because of the odds. When you live in a society and live in a system where your rights depend upon your race, economic status and job status, guess what ? Hostility abounds. The innocent often take pleas because the DNA evidence that can be used to exonerate them is most times, suppressed by the prosecution and law enforcement.

On the other side, there are some people that belong in jail that got real lucky, either because of a "technicality" or otherwise. Personally, I think OJ should be some prisoner named Bubba's personal girlfriend for life. That's just me. The guy that played..."Baretta", should be sleeping with his ass in the corner , also.

Who gives a shit about OJ? Why would you even bring him up? I agree with x police officer you may need some Prozac! Oh, and by the way it does take me some time to get back to you because I have a life!!
I only started this post because I was so shocked to hear about Jerry and although he may have made a mistake I still think he is a good guy. People make mistakes and at least he didn't rape anyone or kill any children!!
So, Subyigi maybe you should just go back to those other countries, it seems you would fit in well there!

Thanks for letting me rent space in your head, too. You're only shocked because, like "X", you're too blind to think that a cop can do no wrong. Also, I see that you have so much of a life that you cared enough to respond. Tha one went well...lol

Heh, Subyighi, obviously didn't read my response to you. Since you are so up to date on incidents with police officers,do you recall my comment on the Bloomington Police Officer who committed those rapes. I'm not in denial about Police Officers committing crimes. Nor do i believe that they are above the law no matter what!!!!!!!!!! And there is nothing wrong with my vision. But obviously there is something wrong with your brain,as to it be closed, So much for trying to be rational and listening to both arguments. You are obviously not able to communicate a non hostile argument without being insulting. Hummm! I agree with concerned. Stay of the caffeine and remember to take your Prozac!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me your not in my head! I never said that cops are innocent. I know that is far from the truth. I also never said that Jerry is innocent. You really need to read the comments more carefully before you start your comebacks! Jerry is a kind, compassionate family man. He may have made a mistake but at least he didn't hurt anyone! I think you need to kick back, watch some Lifetime and take a midol!!

This is for "Concerned',there's no room in his head because its so full of Bullsh t he can't see straight LOL. He obviously can't read earlier posts or he can't comprehend what he reads. We have both stated to him and gave him factual information as to other police that have done wrong. Its like him comparing Jerry to Maurice Lagrone. Just like subyighi saying that Maurice didn't get a fair trial or that Clinton found him guilty before he was tried. But yet the very thing he accuses Clintucky of doing,he is doing the very thing. What a hypocrite he is!!!!!!!! And yes he has offended my delicate sensibilities and probably anyone else that has compassion for the human race. The difference between us and this hypocrite is that we know Jerry and he does not! You can't rationalize with this pea brain.

Here's "another" Clinton cop we should be so lenient towards because of his service.

Taken from Clinton Daily Journal, March 18th, 2009...Officer Billy Hurst, 40
Accused of viewing pornography while on duty. While, htis is no illegal, such activity is considered "official misconduct".

Hurst was previously disciplined in an incident in which he exposed himself in a local bar. He has been a Clinton Police Officer for 15 years. Previously assigned to work with juveniles, he recently was returned to patrol duty as a result of the investigation.

Computer viruses had begun to surface in police department computers and tracing led investigators to Hurst.

Okay...1 could be a fluke...2 is a pattern. How many more are there "X". They took an oath, they should be held to a higher standard and I think that we all can agree on at least that. But, we should be lenient on them just because one's a "family man" or "times are tough" ?

Quite the opposite should happen. Policemen should realize that kids and their families look to them for guidance and protection and when one of them screws up, it makes them all look bad. Because they are holders of the public trust, they, should be held to a higher standard AND punished with tougher laws. To be lenient with someone just because they have a badge tells the public that, it ok if you commit a crime if you're a cop, you're "special". That's why officers, and you should know this yourself, fight for respect and the public's trust.
