I looked at the out of date web site and like said earlier it is a joke. So out of date why would you beleive anything on it. As far as awards........I dont know, dont live there but cant imagine awards for much if their own site is a month out of date. Glad I dont advertise on it. I would be mad

Sis said on the radio if people keep sending him dirty emails about the tradin post not being fixed he was going to tell the people to stop doing it. That would be sad but it is funny too cause Sid King can save his phone call.......They already quit....

I thank if Sid cared he would have it goin again. Just what I think and I miss being able to look at program online cause I work and cant listen to it.

Sid's trading post is the best way to communicate personal trade for the fairest deal for those unusual items. Also, there have been times that I've made request to sell things and never got a call from listeners. So, what is a month's wait in comparison to no-call at all. I'm gratefull to have him, the station, and this site.
Way-to-go Sid!!!

Want to buy: female ducks, grown guineas, and dwarf female goat. Would buy more if price is reasonable. Also, the roaming chickens are mass producing and we have eggs for sale at the Clinton Library. See....Melvin Browning.

I remember when I would agree with you Mark. Now Sid has abandoned the progam and at a time when the economy is so bad. I miss being able to look online at the archives for things I was needing like a tractor or a truck. I know a lot of people who used the archives and I think it was a huge service to our community that was just thrown away by Sid like it was too much trouble for him. Sid wont get any award for that.

It sucks that they wont update it and now you cant even go to their web site and read the archives. i bet there web site gets maybe 25 percent of the visits it used to. Not very smart because they loose advitisers and money. Sid dont care about anything anymore. Very Sarcastic.

I cant agree with you more. Sid has done away with a HUGE Community Service. I will never forget him anouncing on the air that the web site was owned by someone in California and he had no control over it......... That is an insult to the listeners intellegence. When I heard that I felt that Sid King thinks everyone is STUPID. I too miss the trading post but have been insulted by that idiot to the point I wont listen to his station or support his movie theater. I also wouldnt put any faith in any ad on his web site as he stated he has no conterol over it and it might be as out of date as the trading post and Sid King.

I was speaking with someone the other day, and they said they are in the process of setting up the streaming audio portion of the site to be more reliable. Due to all the natural disasters that have happened around here, I guess they have had quite a time getting things set up. Anyone who has ever dealt with the high cost of streaming audio over the internet would appreciate how much an outlay it is. Especially with all the licensing crap these stations have to deal with, royalties, etc. The guy was telling me also, that it took between two and three hours to transcribe the Trading Post show into text and post it the old way. I guess it just got too cost prohibitive. Especially, since the show takes over an hour of air time, advertisers can't really support that kind of ad cost. Especially, when it is posted in text, no one has to listen to their commercials. He said that by streaming it, the advertisers get a better deal because it is just like the radio and people can't bypass their ads, unless you get up and go to the kitchen like when the actual broadcast is coming in over the radio, like I do! I mentioned to him that maybe we could form a membership type thing that people could pay maybe five dollars a month and that would give them a password to go the site and view the text listings of the show. That would help cover expenses, what does everyone think?

If items are written down during the program why couldnt the sheet be scanned and put on the website for people to read. That doesnt cost money.

I know I'm a little late on this topic but you can currently listen to each day's trading post program anytime of the day on khpq.com . From what I know, the guy that updates the site is in California. So I'm sure Sid meant he doesn't update the site himself, when he said he didn't have control over it. Maybe you are stupid if you took it the way you did. I'm sure that he has input as to what goes on the site, but not as to when changes are made, etc. You have to keep in mind, the trading post is a daily program on 6 days a week. That is a lot of updating for a person, in California, to make as a web designer...or whoever does it. They have fixed the problem, now. And appearantly were working on it when most of you were complaining on here, because from the looks of the site, it's been up since the beginning of 09'. I think it's idiotic they way people just throw their hurtful opinions out their without knowing all the facts. Sid King is a very nice man, who does a lot for the community. I wouldn't consider banning his businesses just because the trading post program archives were out of date on his website....WOW! People amaze me. Also, if you live in Clinton, you would know that Sid was deathly sick, for months, around the time you all were complaining about seeing trading post archives. I'm sure that was the last thing on his mind at the time.

One other thing, Sid is in the radio business. Meaning he wants people to listen to his radio station. The way radio people make money is by airing advertisements. If you aren't listening to the radio, then businesses won't advertise during the trading post and then there would be NO trading post because there would be no funding to support it. So, I think it's pretty great that Sid even attempted to put the archives up in the past in the first place. Again, now the problem is fixed...you can listen to the whole program at khpq.com .

Sid has been good to the community and the community has been good to Sid. A lot of us preferred to read the archives rather than listen to the program. In these economic times, a smart business owner tries to please as many customers as possible.

Well, actually the trading post is successful all on its own, and if it does have an out-of-date website, no matter because regardless of what we or anyone else posts here, or on any other site, Syd's morning radio show continues to grow-and will-whether it has current website posts, or if they are four years old. People just want something to complain about-period.

the trading post has been running for a long time and with all the calls and the lack of help at the station Sid has a blessing Clinton and its surrounding areas.
